OFFICIAL PROCENDINGS
'Regular meeting called to order April 9th, 1940.
Previous minutes read and approved.
All members present .
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Spekulant that the petition of property owners
abbutting on South side of 40th to E. l%ne of lot 19, and North side, of ~0th Ave.,
to E. line of lot 42, for curb from Central Ave. East, be turned'.Qver to the City
Manager for a check'of delinquent taxes; Roll call - All ayes.
Motion by mentzen, seconded by rritchard, that the restaurant, off and on sale
licenses for From's Cafe, 848-40thAve.'be cancelled. Roll call- All ayes.
Motion by Jackson, seconded by Spekulant, that the requests of ~. W. Anderson, for
' restaurant, off and on sale licenses for 848 - 40th Ave. be granted. Roll call - All
'ayes.
'Motionby~entzen, seconded by Pritchard; that Carl Althous be granted a plumbing
· license. Roll call - All ayes.
'Petition from garage and filling station operators, asking the Council to refuse any
'more gas station permits. According to' the City Attorney, the Council cannot refuse
'any permits.
'Motion by Jackson, seconded by'Prltchard, that the communication be placed on file;
'(Pertaining to above).
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Spekul-ant that Martin Voss be granted a 3-pump
gas statiou license for 4030 Central ATe. Roll call - Ail a~es.
Motion by Bentzen, seconded bY Pritcha~d, that a gas station license be granted to
LeonarA Ohman in conjunction with Kolber$'s Tavern - 45th Ave. & University.. Roll
call - All ayes.
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by~A~ Jackson that the City Manager answer the
letter from the Sup't. of the N. P. Ryj(with reference to cinders) t,~anking him for
his cooperation, etc. Roll call - Ail ayes.

39th & Gould., callingattention to menace of rats, disease, etc. Placed on file.
Motion picture shown by two ~estlnghouse Elec. representatives, resarding ornamental
street lighting~
Motion by Prltchar~, seconded-by Bentzen, that the City Manager notify the Bank
t.,at the City will ~acate the premises'now occupied by the City Offices, on or be-
fore June ls$. Roll call - Ail a~es. '
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Jackson, that the bills for the new addition to
the Field house be taken out of the Bldg. Fund. Roll call - Ail ayes.
Resolution offered by Pritchard,'seconded by °entzen, The City Council of the City
of Columbia "eights hereby resolves that the City Treasurer be and she hereby is
authorized to transfer $350.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Spedial Sewer Fund and
the City Council hereby finds that the~e is sufficient monies in the ~X Liquor Fund
to ma~e such transfer. Roll call - All ayes.
