Motion by Pritchard', seconded by Jackson, that the release of Carrie Swart be accepted and placed on file. Roll call - All ayes. let reading of Resolution to award contract to the ~inneapolis General Electric Company for furnishing illumination for a period of five years. let reading of resolution to award contract to the Minneapolis General Electric 0ompany for furniehiD~ electricity for municipal water oumoing service for a oeriod of five years. Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Spekulant that the comnmu~ic&tion from the Anoka Co-op regarding gas for the Police car be laid on the table for further investigation. Roll call - A~es: Pritchard, Spekulant. Ns~Vs: Bentzen, Jackson, Bassett. Motion by Bent~en, seconded by Jackson, that the City Manager be instructed to advertise for bids for that part of the contract, but to continue using Co-co Gas until the bids are received and acted uoon. Roll call - Ayes: Bentzen, Jackson, Soekulsnt, Bassett. Not Voting - Pritchard. Mo$ion by Jackson, seconded by Bentzen, timt the Mpls. Gen. Elec. 0o. be granted per- mission to erect poles on Hayes St. between 39th & 40th. Roll call - All ayes. Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Jackson, that the City Manager acquire Lot 7, Block 4, Reservoir Hills Addition. Roll call - Ail ~ves. Resolution offered by Bentzen, seconded by Pritch,'rd, The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights hereby resolves: Thst heres£ter all poles erected by the Minneaoolis General Electric Company in the extension of service be olaced in alleys whereever possible. And further when a reouest to erect poles is to be made that the request be referred to the City Manager before being presented to the Council. And the Council hereby directs that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Minneapolis General Electric Company. Roll call - Ail ayes. Resolution offered by Pritchard, seccnded by Jackson, The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights hereby resolves: That hereafter all poles erected by the Northwestern Bell T&lephone Company in the extension of service be placed in alleys wherever possible. And further when a req,~st to erect poles is to be made that the request be referred to the City Manager before being presented to the Council. And the Council hereby directs that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. Roll call - All ayes.
