Regular meeting called to order J~me 13th, 1939. All members present with the excep-
tion of Mr. Severson.
Previous minutes read and aoproved.
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Bentzen, that the aoplications of Ernest Nordin ~-'
for restaurant, off and on sale ,be changed to ~ead Eleanor Noddin, as it was the
intent of the Council .to grant the license to Ele~ No,din. Roll call - All ayes.
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Bentzen, that the Council go on record notifying
Mrs. Nordin that she establish her residence in the City within thirty days or her
license will be revoked. Roll call - All ayes.
Motion by Bentaen, seconded by Pritchard, that all beer narlor operators be notified
that they must create a residence in the City within thirty da~s, or their license
will be revoked. Roll call - All a~es.
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Bentzen, that the petition for curb and gutter on
7th St. from 42nd to ~3rd, be turned over to the City Manager for a check on delin-
ouent taxes. Roll call - All ayes.
Motion by Bentzen, seconded by Fritchard, that Roy E. White be granted a lunch room
license for 666 - 40th Ave. Roll call - All s~ves
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Wohlford, that the Minneapolis Gas Compa~,v be granted
the right to extend its mains for furnishing gas to the Electric Steel Casting Co.,
lot 8, Block E. Roll call - All ayes.
Motion by Pritchard, seconded by Bentzen, that A. Ingebredtsen, of Electric Repair
an~ Const. Co. be granted an electrical cermet. Roll call - Alll aves.
Motion by N~h~zen, seconded by Wohlford, that Langford Electric Co. be granted an
electrical ~icense. Roll call - Ail s~ves.
Resolution offered by Pritch~rd, seconded by Sentzen, WH~EAS, The City Columbia HeiShts
did on the 12th da~ of June, 1939, conduct and hold a General Municipal Election; and,
WHEREAS, the City $~uncil of the City of 0olumbia Heights, at a regular meeting of said
Council held on the 13th day of June, 1~39, did canvas the returns ~nd results of said
General Municipal Election, and, WHEREAS, the following results were determined by said
canvas of said General Municipal Election, to-wit:

NOW ~RE, 2e it resolved By the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, That
Louis W. 2assert be and he hereby is declared to Be :elected Mayor of the City of Columbia
Heights for a ~eriod of two years commencing on the fim~tMond~v after the first Tuesd~
of July, 1939. That Andrew Spekulant and David Jackson Be and they hereby are declared
to Be slatted Council men for, a period of four years commencing on the first Monda~ after
· the first Tuesda~ of'July, 1939. That Clyde C. Johnson Be and he hereby is declared to
be elected Municipal Judge of the City of Columbia Eeights for a period of four years
commencing the first Monda~ in July 1939. Passed Jhne 13th, 1939. Roll call - Ail a~es.

Motion By ~entzen, seconded by Pritchard, that the notice from David Jed~aeon regarding
damages to his property By the City, be nlaced on file. Roll call - Ail a~es.
Motion by Wohlford, seconded By Pritchard, that Otis Cyrus be granted a Building oerng~
for Lot ~8, ~lock §$ of Col~mBia hleights Annex. Roll call - All a~es.
Resolution offered by Bentzen, seconded by Pritchard, The City Council of the City of
· Col~m~ia ~eightz hereby resolves: That the City Treasurer Be and she hereby ia authorized
and tmstructed to transfer from the #Liquor Fund# the following amounts of monies to the
funds designated: To the "Water Fund# - ~lO0.00; To the Street Maintenance Fund - $700.00
and to the Administration Fund, ~00.00. And the City Conncil hereby finds that theme is
sufficient monies in the Liquor Fund to make such transfer. Roll call - Ail a~es.

of Col~Bta ~eights, Anoka County, Mi_~_n_esota, and fixing the time for hearing with respect
to benefits and the proportion of the co,ts to be assessed against the property. Whereas,
the City M~uager has made a careful estimate of the cost of constructing Local Improve-
mente ~42,44,81,62,63,64,$5,$6 ,~7 ,$8 ,~9,70 ,and 71 together with the list of the several
lots and parcels of land fronting upon and adgacent to such improvement which he deems
Benefited thereby and the ~ames of the owners of the several parcels, as nearly as can be
asceFtalned and ~lxereas this Co-~ucil did heretofore By resolution ~uly adopted and passed
by4/5 votes determine to make such improvements, NOW, Tt~REFORE ~E IT RES0~D By the
~City Council of the City of Columbia ~eights, Anoka ~oun~, Minnesota, as follows:
That the 0ouncil hereby determines that the property described in the list attached hereto
will be benefitted by such local improvement. That this Council will meet on the ~7th d~v
of June, 1939 at 8;00 0~Clock P.M. at the Municipal Office building in said City where
all ~ersons interested ma~ appear and be heard by the Cou$cil with respect to Benefits and
to the proportion of the cost of the improvement to Be assessed against their property;
and that the City Manager be and he hereby is authorized and directed to publish a list of
all such p~erperty with the names of the owners, as far as the same can Be ascertained, to-
gether with a notice of the time and place when and where such nersons~ ~y Be heard,
twice in the official newspaper of the City not less than two weeks prior to the date of

of OolumBia Heights hereby resolwes that the City Manager and ~uilding Inspector

Inspector Be submitted to the City Council for ratification at the next regular meeting
