Regular meeting called to order August 11, 1936 at the City Offices at 8 P.M. All
members present with the exception of Mr. Wohlford.
Previous minutes read and approved.
Motion by Severson, seconded by Miller, that the petitions with reference to
oiling, etc., be turned back to the City Manager for re-checking and that same be

Resolution offered by Severson,. eecon&ed by Bassett, Whereas, the City Manager
has reported to the Council on the eSti~ated' coat of surfading 7th St. from ~tB
LAve. to 41st Ave. N. E. and has drafted a list of the lots or parcels of' land front-
lng on an~ benefitted by ~aid improvement,' which report and l~st is attached here-
to: The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights hereby resolves: Section 1.
That the report of the City Manager that the aforesaid improvement will co.st
approximately $17~.00 be adoptedj Section 2. ~ the Council hereby fin~s and
determines that' the list of the several lots and parcels of land appended heret~
will be benefitted by said improvement.' Section 3. That the Council will me~! on

Resolution offered by Miller, escort&ed by Severson, ~hereas, on the 28th day of July,
1936, a petition was presented to the City Council of the City of CoDmubia Heights to
surface 7th St. from 4Oth Ave. to 41st Ave. 2;. E. and assess the cost of said inr0rove-
sent to the abutting property which cost was to ~proximate four dollars per forty
foot lot. Whereas the aforesaid petition was referred to the City Manager for in-
vestigation and report as to the rec. uisite number of signatures. The. City Council of
the City of Columbia t~ights hereby resolve~: Section 1. Tlmt the Council hereby finds
and determines that the petition to surface ?th St. from 4Otb Ave. to 41st Ave. 1~. F~
is signed by the resident owners of m~__re tha~ 51% in frontage of the property abutting
on said street named in said petition as the location of said improvement as shown by
the records of the Register of Deeds. Section 2. 'That the petition be referred to the
City Man:get with the direct&on to~ estimate~ the cost of said improvement~ and to draft
a list of the several lots or parcels o£ land fronting upon and adjacent to such pro-
posed improvements which is benefitted thereby; further, that said City Manager report

The following letter read from the CitYt~r~asurer:~e
/~ recheck of the books disclosed that so-called shortage of the City Treasurer
was properly accounted for, and was due to'a clerical error, in the posting of check
~951 issued in $~e. Motion by Bassett, seconded by Miller, that the above letter
be accepted and placed ~n file. Roll call - A~ves: Bassett, Miller, SeVerson, Terns.

Motion by Miller, seconded by Bassett, that the application for abatement of ta~es
covering lot 6, block 3, Re-arrangement of Block ~' m~ie by Hilda Eumpfner be approved
and a copy sen~ to the County Auditor. Roll call, Ayes: Bas,crt, Miller, Severson,

of Columbia Heights hereby resolves that the wages of the Manager of the ~unicipal
Liquor store be increased to $180. per month to be in effect from and including the
16th of August, 19~. and that' the City Treas~rer be authorized and directed to make
