Resolution offered by Karrow, seconded by Stinson, that the Northern
Finance Company be paid the balance due on the Ford Truck, and that
the proper City Officials be auth~Bized and directe~ to issue check
for same. Roll call, all ~yes.
Police report read. Motion by Karrow, seconded by Stinson, that the
Police report be accepted and placed on file. Roll call, all ayes.
~otion by Karrow, seconded by Gannon, that the follewing applications
volunteering services on the special election April 17th, be accepted,
and same be placed on file for future election. Roll call, all ayes.

First Readin~ of Ordinance
An ordimmnce amending an ordinance pro~ibitin~ the use o~ sale at retail
of certain fireworks and providin~ a penalty for violation thereof in the
City of Columbia Heighta, passed on the ~th day of May 1928, and amended
on the 27th day of ~day 1930.
The City of Columbia Heights does ordain:
That section !~ of an Ordinance prohibiting the use or s~le at retail of
certain fireworks and providing a penalty for the violation thereof passed
on the 8th day of ~ay 1928, and amended on the 27th day of May t930, and
reads as follows:
Section ~ - Permits. Persons, firms or corporations desiring to secure
permits to sell, store, display or ~ive away fireworks other than in their
usual place of bNsiness within the corporate limits of the City of Columbi~
Heights must maintain a business in or be a bona fide resident of the
City of Columbia Heights for at least three months y, rior to July 1st of
each ~ear, an~ shall apply therefore to the City Council in writing for
such permit to sell, store or ~isplay or ~ive away fireworks within the
corporate limits of the City of Columbia Heights. The fee for such
mit shall be m~i~ J~50.O0 and shall accompany the applic~tion. Such
permit shall be vali~ only betwwen June 25th and July 5th of the yea~
in which issued.
Be and the same hereby is amended to read as follows:
Sectidn 4 - Permits. Persons, firms or corporation desiring to secure

July 1st of each year, and shall apply therefore to the City 6~uncil in
writing for such permit to sell, store display or give away fireworks
within the corporate limits of the City of Columbia Eeights. Such per-
mit shall be valid only h. etween June 25th and JNly 5th, of the year in
which issued.
Section This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after th~-6~ (30) days after date of its passage.
