Special meeting called to order Sept. 18, 1930 at the High School
Building. Ail ~mem~ers present except Councilman Stinson.
Purpose of the meeting was to consider the proposition of the Wentworth
Griffon Company of Minneapolis, in regard to delinquent taxes on their
private property tn Columbia Heights. Their proposition was to pay the
tax after, cutting off the penalties, interest~ and 805 of the origimal
taxes. Also any other business that the City Manager might bring before
the Council.
After some dimcussion, the following resolution was offered by Karrow
and seconded by Gannon.
WHEREAS, the Council has met and considered the proposition of reducing
taxes on certain parcels of land in the City of~ Columbia ~eights, which
are described as follows: (Listed on resolution)
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Couacll of the Citer of Columbia
He~ights, Anoka County, ~innesota, that the Council proposes the payment
or all taxes in full,, including penalties and interest on special
provementa, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Columbia
Heights, ~oka Coumty, Minnesota, tlzet it recommend to the Coumty
Commissioners and also the State Tax Commissioners, the reduction of
om the General Tax, cancelling all penalties and intere.st on such general
tax, and that the City Clerk be and hereby is autho, rized and instx, Acted
to forward a copy of th~s. resolution to the Wentworth G~lffen Company of
Minneapolis, the County Commissioners of ~noka County, ~innesota, and
the Minnesota State Tax Commission.
Roll Call: Dahl yes, Gannon yes, Stinson Absent., Karrow yes, Foster yes
Carried.
Resolution offered by Dahl, seconded by Gannon, that the City Manager be
instructed to grant the City of Minneapolis permission to lay 24" connect-
ing Water Maim~ alo~ streets as per letter of Sept. 13th, 19~0 and
that the City Manager be authorized and instructed to obtain levels on
such streets.
Roll Call: Dahl yes, Gannon yes, S~inson Absent, Karrow yes. Carried.
Motion to adjourn by Ga~m~on, seconded by Dahl.
