OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS
Adjourned meeting called to order May 16th, 1930 at 8:00 PM at the High
School Building. All members present except Councilman Stinson.
The purpose of the meeting was the condemnation of property on the pro-
posed University Highway.
Resolution offered by Da~., seconded by Gannon.
BE IT RESOLVED By the ~it~ of Co~Iumbia ~tghts,~ ~that certain lands between
3Vth Ave. N. E and 53rd Ave. N. E., a more particular description of which
is attached hereto and made a part hereof, and which parcels and portions
of said land as may benecessary for the con~t~uctlon of the extension of
University Avenue through that part of the City of Columbia ~etghts be, and
the same is hereby condemned for the purpose of con~tructt~E~ a public high-
way.
BE IT ~URTHER RESOLVED that the Cit~~ Manager instruct the City Attorney
of Columbia Heights to proceed with said condemnation of such parcels and
portions of said lands as may be necessary for the constuction of the Public
Highway, all in accordance with the law. Passed Ee~y 16, 19O0.

Motion by Dabl, seconded by Kar~ow that the request of the ~merican ~
Leg~n for a Fireworks license be granted. All ayes.
Letter read from the Fire Department in regard t~ granti~_g the American
Legion's request to sell Fireworks on Reservoir Olvd. & OentrA1 Ave.,
Motion by Karrow, seconded by Dahl, that the communication be placed on
file. All ayes.
Motion by ~ahl, seconded by ~1~ Gannon, that Mr. Karrow, Mr~ Stinson
and Mrs. Trucker be appointed delegates to the League of ~lunicipalities
Convention to be held at Duluth, June 12, 13, and 14th, allowing $80. each
for expenses. All ayes.
Motion by Narrow, seconded by Gannon, that the Council order Nelson to
proceed with CuBb and Gutter Job on Tyler as per instruction.
Preamble to Ordinance # authorizing issuance of $49,000. Refunding
Bonds of the.~City of Co~-~-$1a nelghts.

First reading of an ordinance covering the sale of Fireworks in the City
of Columbia ~eights, and requireing a fee of $~0.
Resolution offered by Karrow,. seconded by Dahl, that the City Manager be
authorized to have the City Engineer check up on all defects in Sewer sys-
tem and streets and have same sent to the City Attorney and have him le-
gally notify Henr~ Nodlund to proceed with the work.
