Cozm~uni~ation read f~om the City Water Wor~s, as follows:
"Relative to the matter of permission to lay a 48" water main in the
Road on Main St, ih~om 43rd to 45~h Ave, N. E. and in 43rd Ave, N, E,. f~om
th~ RiFer Road to Main St,, C~issione~ Paterson of Col~bia Heights has
r~,qnasted certain i~prov,o~nt along Main St., and also on 45th Ave. N.
t~o~ that village, After a conference with the City Engineer, i~ was
p~o~osed to complete to g~ade an 18 ft, ~oadway on the portion of the route
mentioned, the same to be the proposed grade fo~ theso streets and after
shaping this ~o to give the roadway two applications of oi~, ~e g~ad~g
would include about 8,300 yards of earthwork and 15,860 square yard~

Resolut'ion by Karrow, seconded by Rahl, that the City E:ngineer's pro,file
be declared as an established grade on 45th Ave, N. E. Passed by ~muanimou~
roll call vote.
ResolutiOn by Dahl, seconded by Gannon, that the request of the
City of ivZinneapolis for the laying of 48" Water Main on ~Sth Ave.
N. E., be granted subject~ to all agreements. Passed by unani-
mous ~oll call vote.
Motion by Karrow, seconded by ~tinson, that the Council rescind
the motion to act on the proposed University Highway. All ayes.
Notion carried.
R~solution by Dabl, seconded by Stinson,
~E IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY Council of the City of Columbi~ Heights,
that ~e City Nanager be authorized to condemn the property as
s~ecified from ~8th ~to ~th and from ~th to.A~th~ only the West
l~ feet on Columbia ezghts Acres, Block ~ and 4.
Also that the City Manager let the Hennepin County Board know, and
as soon as he hears from them~ to start oonde~r~ation proceedings.
Mo$ion by Gannon, seconded by Dahl, that the Motorcycle be termed
as~obsolete and useless, and that the Cit~ Mauager be authorized
and~instructed to sell same for $15.00. All ayes.'
~[r~ McKe~na stated that John Nelson was willing to cancel the con-
tract for Curb and GUtter on Tyler St. from ~Tth to ~9th Ave. ~. E.
Mr. Stinson stated tha~ the people on his street were interested
in getting the Gas in.
Notion by Karrow, seconded by Dahl, that the City.Manager be authorized
and instructed to call Engineer Carroll and have him send a profile
on the street under the old contract, to establish a grade on Washington
Street from ~Srd to 4~th. All ayes.
Motion by Stinson, seconded by Gannon to rescind the action taken on
February BSth, in regard to the recall on H. W. Karrow. On roll Gall,
Dahl, yes; Gannon, yes; Stinson yes; Karrow, not voting. Carried.
