HomeMy WebLinkAboutMay 21, 1984 (3)OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS COLUMBIA HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MAY 21, 1984 The special meeting was called to order by Mayor Nawrocki at 6:45 P.M. 1. Roll Call Hovland, Petkoff, Carlson, Peterson, Nawrocki - present 2. Purpose of Meeting Transfer of hockey rink lights from Wargo Court to Mathaire Park. In the event that the area around Wargo Court is developed as proposed there is no use for the hockey rink lights in this location. The City Manager advised the Council that the old lighting system at Mathaire Park hockey rink has been removed and that the area has been prepared for installation of new lights. The wiring for this system has already been authorized by the Council. The Mayor noted that this matter had not been discussed with the Park Board but the City Manager advised that the funds for the purchase of the lighting system are in the Park Dedication Fund. Mayor Nawrocki inquired if these funds could be replaced by Community Development Grant Funds. The Director of the HRA suggested this ~ould be possible from money realized from program income money. 3. Recommendations a. Motion by Hovland, second by Petkoff to authorize the Mayor and City Manager to execute a purchase agreement with School District #13 for the purchase of the Wargo Court hockey rink lighting system at a cost of $4,000. Roll call: All ayes b. Motion by Petkoff, second by Hovland to authorize the transfer of funds from the Park Dedication Fund in the amount of $4,000 to the General Fund; and furthermore, to modify the Park Department (#4751) budget, Capital Outlay Account (#1520).
