HomeMy WebLinkAboutMay 11, 1981 (2)OBoard of Review Continuation Minutes City of Columbia Heights May 11, 1981 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Nawrocki at 8:00 pm. Secretary Pro-Tem Motion by Logacz, second by Heintz to appoint Keith Masuda secretary pro-tem. Roll call: All ayes 1. Roll Call Logacz, Heintz, Norberg, Hentges, Nawrocki--present 2. Re-Statement of Purpose Consideration of requests from residents to amend certain assessed values. 3. Presentation of City Assessor The City Assessor, Mildred Carlson, commented on properties whose evaluations had been questioned at the recessed Board of Review on May 4, 1981. Mrs. Carlson viewed the property at 4148 7th Street, owned by Norman Miner. There was an arbitrary value on the property because she could not gain entry. After viewing she recommended the Estimated Market value be reduced from $50,100 to $40,700 on Plat # 33365, Parcel # 3247. The property of John Hunter at 4236 Washington Street was also viewed and it was recommended to reduce the Estimated Market value from $71,800 to $68,700 on Plat # 33365, Parcel # 1894. Conrad Nauman, 4156 Central Avenue, contacted Mrs. Carlson during the week for a review of his property. At the time of the appointment on Friday, May 8th Dr. Nauman was in the hospital. She recommended no change in the Estimated Market value. A report of comparable sales was presented to substantiate the Estimated Market value on the Porter property at 40th Avenue and 3rd Street. Mrs. Carlson recommended no change on the value of the home of Mrs. Donald Renquist, 1800 Fairway Drive. 4. Council Action R~ardino 1.981 Estimated Market Value Motion by Heintz, second by Norberg that the recommendations of the City Assessor be accepted and that the 1981 assessment roll be accepted and approved as amended this llth day of May, 1981.
