SPECIAL ~EETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA
MAY 14, 1979
The meeting was called to order at 7:27 p.m.
Roll Call: Logacz, Norberg, Hentges, Nawrocki - Present
PURPOSE OF MEETING
Mayor Nawrocki stated that the purpose of the meeting was a continuation of
the meeting of the Council sitting as the Board of Review which was held on
May 7.
PRESENTATION OF INFORMATION
The City Manager stated that a report has been presented by the City Assessor
stating the value changes for 1979. The property owners who requested new
valuations have been checked by the City Assessor and several changes were
recommended.
Mr. Hanley Wiig, 4323 Monroe St., stated that he is still unhappy with the
result of his reevaluation. His property value is being recommended for a
reduction. Discussion followed on why the house couldn't be sold last year
at a price lower than its present estimated market value.
Mrs. Phyllis Kelm, 4319 Monroe St., questioned the valuation of her property.
Mayor Nawrocki asked that she discuss this matter with the City Assessor in her
office and come back later in the meeting and declared the meeting recessed at
8:05 p.m.
The meeting was reconvened at 8:40 p.m.
Millie Carlson, City Assessor, stated she felt the value on the properties in
question were correct.
Motion by Hentges, seconded by Logacz, to accept the assessment roll as amended.
Roll Call: All Ayes
Mr. Wiig stated he would appeal the decision to the County.
The Mayor stated he would like, after the County has its review meeting, to be
advised as to any changes they make on any property in Columbia Heights and their
rationale in changing the values.

Motion by NoFbeFg, seconded by Hentges, to adjourn the Board of Review at
8:45 p.m.
