HomeMy WebLinkAboutNov 3, 1976OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA NOVEMBER 3, 1976 The Meeting was called to order at 12:12 p.m. Roll Call: Heintz, Norberg, Hentges, Nawrocki--present Logacz--absent Motion by Norberg, Seconded by Hentges to name Karen DeBruin secretary for the meeting. Roll Call: All Ayes Mayor Nawrocki noted that this special meeting was called for purposes of canvassing the results of the split liquor referendum. RESOLUTION #76-56 CANVASSING MUNICIPAL SPECIAL ELECTION RETURSN WHEREAS, the City of Columbia Heights, did on the 2nd day of November, 1976, conduct and hold a special Municipal Election for the purpose of authorizing the City to issue on-sale liquor licenses in addition to maintaining its municipal liquor operations, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights at a meeting of said Council held on the 3rd day of November, 1976 did canvass the returns and results of said Special Municipal Election; and WHEREAS, the following results were determined by said canvass of said Special Municipal Election, to wit: Total Ballots Cast in Election 11,O94 Yes ............... 7,334 No ............... 3,124 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that since a majority of the voters voting on the question at such election voted in the affirmative, the City of Columbia Heights may issue "on-sale" liquor licenses in addition to maintaining its municipal liquor operations.
