Special Meeting
March 12, 1974
The meeting was called to order at 7:20 P.M. Roll call - Logacz, Heintz,
Norberg, Land, Nawrocki present.
Motion by Norberg second by Heintz to appoint Margo Emerson Secretary pro-tern
for this meeting. Roll call, all ayes.
The purpose of this meeting was to take action on 1974 salaries for certain
City employees. Mayor Nawrocki indicated that considerable discussion had been
held and the Council was now ready to adopt the resolutions on salaries.
Resolution #74-14 SETTING 1974 MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES SALARIES
Resolution offered by Norberg seconded by Land BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the
City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the following salary schedule
be established for 1974 effective January l, 1974. In addition to the salaries
established the individual employee's hospitalization and life insurance premiums
(under the Hennepin County Group Plan) will be paid:

The foregoing sa]aries are specifically established for personnel presently
employed (as of Jan. 1, 1974) based upon a forty (40) hour work week. Other
personnel salaries to be set by resolution upon completion of final negotia-
tions and signing of contracts with respective department personnel
representatives. Roll call on the resolution, all ayes
RESOLUTION #74-15 SETTING SALARIES FOR MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

Resolution offered by Land second by Heintz Bt: IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE City of Columbia Heights that WHEREAS negotiations have pro-
ceeded for several months between Local 320 Teamsters representing members of
the Police Department and the City Council's Labor Consultant representing the
Suburban Municipalities and said negotiations have resulted in mutually
acceptable contracts NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the contract agree-
merits as negotiated in respect to economic considerations be and the same are
hereby established as the salary and fringe benefit program for 1.974 for
members of the Columbia Heights Police Department, with said contracts to be
made a part hereof as though set forth in full, upon acceptance by Inter-
national Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 320 and the city labor consultant.
Roll call on the resolution - all ayes.
Public Works and Fire Department
Mr. Watson indicated that they were still negotiating with Public Works and
the Fi re Department.
Motion by Land Second by Norberg to adjourn the meeting
