Special Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 8:10 p.m. Roll Call: Land,
Jeska, Heintz, Nawrocki - present Norberg - absent.
Bids on Highway Construction, 47th and Central, Project #7204.
Bids were received earlier in the day on construction project
#7204, 47th and Central. The low bidder was Bituminous Roadways
in the amount of $57,057.25. Dale Hamilton from Suburban Engineering
and Marshall Goldman from K-Mart were present and said they were
satisfied with the bid. K-Mart will take complete financial
responsibility for the work. Motion by Heintz, seconded by Jeska
that the bid on project #7204 be awarded to Bituminous Roadways
in the amount of $57,057.25, that the Mayor and City Manager
be authorized to enter into a contract for same. Roll Call -
All Ayes.
Bid Opening on Traffic Sema-phore Installation, 47th and Central._
It was reported the bid opening on traffic sema-phore installation
in the vicinity of 47th and Central will be held in the morning of
July 5, 1972 with a recommendation to the Council at the regular
meeting, July 10th.
Ordinance #788 - Lot Subdivision and Area Waiver.
A first reading was held on Ordinance #788 - Lot Subdivision and
Lot Area Waiver, as requested by Harley Stover, for Lot 7, Block 1,
Reservoir Hills.
Resolution #72-36 Authorizing 90 Day Loan to Housing Authority.
This matter was referral to the City Attorney for claHfication at
our last Council meeting. He reported after doing some research
he found an Attorney General Opinion which indicated the City
cannot do it. H.U.D. can advance this money directly to the Authority.
No action was taken.
Drainage Problem at 5015 - 5th Street.
James Turcotte was present and a discussion was held on a drainage
problem at 5015 - 5th Street. The Engineering Department reported
some curb replacement would be necessary to get p~per drainage
prior to the final seal coating.
License & Permit Fees on City Garage Building.
Motion by Land, seconded by Jeska that the request from
Progressive Design Associates for a waiver of the license and
permit fees for the City Garage building be denied. Roll Call -
All Ayes.

Request to Purchase Miscellaneous Grates and Castings.
A request was received from the Sewer & Water Department to
purchase miscellaneous grates and castings for manholes. Informal
bids were received from six companies. Adler Steel Products is
the low bidder. The City Attorney expressed concern over the
procedure used in purchasing this equipment and suggested the
matter be ta~ed and he will get clarification. Motion by
Heintz, seconded by Jeska to table the request until the next
regular meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Storm Sewer Proposal for Park Area West of Main Street.
Motion by Heintz, seconded by Jeska that the City Manager be
authorized to advertise for a hearing on storm sewer installation
for the park area west of Main Street, the hearing to be held
at a regular Council meeting, July 10, 1972. Roll Call - All ~es.
Equipment Yard Fencing.
The City Engineer reported he received informal quotes from
four companies on chain link fencing for the Sewer & Water Department
equipment yard. He requested authorization to purchase the fencing
from the low bidder. Moti~ by Heintz, seconded by Jeska that the
matter be refer~d to the City Attorney for further clarification
and report back at the next regular meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes.
