The "~'~¥ Nanager .reported on the ,vibrator roller for mhich bids were received
at the last meeting. The roller has been used on a rental basis for the past
month and it' has been detemined that it does not fua¢~ion satisfactorily for
extensive repair ~ork. Therefore they ar~ recommending that the bids be rejec-
ted. Instead they would,~recommend trading the present low-bo~ trailer fo~
which can load from the rear, making it p~ssible to transport the pre~ent large
Eaber roller to job sites. A ~ew motor ~nd other repairs will be necessar~ on

Mr. Ri'chard McXenng was present to appea[-'the denial of the Planning and
Zoning Commission for placing his 16 x 32 Doughboy swimming poole He now pro-
poses to place the pool 5' frc~ his side lot line, and altho there is ~ or-
dinance governing pools as yet, it was determined that the request does require
a side ~ard waiver. Hotion by Jeska seconded by Xeintz to ~rant Mr. McKenna's
request for a pool pen,it providing the pool be placed 5' fro, the side lot
line as indicated on the plot plan on file with the City, and that a 12 inch
walkway deck may be constructed along the south side of the pool. Roll call,
all ayes.

chase land adjacent to our water tower on Stinson Blvd. and to erect a 100 foot
towr. ~abers of the 0ity 0ouncil are reluctant to allow amy construction
other than the water tower in this residential area. Inasmuch as ~etro Fane
has already been granted permission to put an antenna on top of the water
tow"r, this will be their course of action now, Discussion followed, and it
was ~ved by Jeska seconded by Reints that the contract with metrefone be
amended to begin on August 1, 1970. All ayes.

A proposal has been made that an entry to the library bases~ut be constructed
leading down in a atair.e]~ fr.a the front sidewalk. This ~ould pr,vide ac-
cess to the c~_-w~umity room and pistol range without going thru the library
proper. 'It was mentioned that a placard could he posted on the front door asking
people to use the hack door for basement activities, since there are not m
to~ ~any group, imvbl~ed. ~r. Logacz, ~ho is council representative on the
Library Board, will discuss the matter again with them.

ceived frc~ residents who are unable to get a taxi cab, or to even get an
answe~ on the telephone at the cab stand. Investigation has revealed tha~ of
the 3 cabs purported to be in service (actuall~ licenses have been issued for
10 vehicle, this year) only 1 cab is in running order. ~r. Robert Kahle,,
the ow,er, was present at the meeting. He atto,pied to explain his business
and personal pr~blams, but there is no ju,tificatiou for the poor service he
is giving the co,sanity.
A recess was called at 10.-10, and the meeting convened again at 10.'35e
Motion by Jeaka seconded by Heintz ths~ a hearing on the taxi cab service be
scheduled for Wednesday evening July 29th at ~ P.M. with the possibility that
the Highland Taxi Company's license could be revoked. Roll call - all ayes.

Allen E. Law was present requesting a solicitors license for the North Minneapolis
Recreation Development group who wish to sell candy frc~ door to door. It was
determined that this groupx is indeed non-profit. They have permits to sell in
10 nearby communities.Mr. Law was asked to su~mit names of the 12 yeas olds
will do the actual door to door selling. Motion by Land seconded by Heintz that
upon favorable reports from the Police Department, solicitors licenses be
granted to Allen Law ~ho has paid the $5 fee, and to the following boys
fees shall be waived: Rodney Vincent, Jesse Gray, DaSd Gray, Sherman Gray,
Charlie Henderson, Leon He.aderson, Kai Spencer, Willie Trotter, and Keith Jordan.
