First 300,000 cu. ft. per quarter .14 per 100 cubi~ ~eet Next 600,000 " " " " .10 " " - - Next 600,000 " - ,, ,, ~ 1,500,000 " " " " 06 " " " " BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. that the foregoing rates become effective with all billings after March 1, 1969. Motion by Logacz and seconded by Land.that CityCouncil approve an institutional membership for the Columbia Heights Human Rights Commission in the Minnesota Council for Civil and Human Rights and Day the annual institutional membership fee of $10.00. Resolution offered by Logacz, seconded by Land, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of_the City of Columbia Heights, that the Minnesata Highway:Department be and they are hereby requested to proceed with the necessary changes'in speed'control and signing at the major school crossing intersection of 49th Avenue N.~. and Highway ~65. In accordance with studies and recommendations from the citizen groups, munic~al officials, school representatives, the City Council and'the City Traffic Commission, the following suggestions are made in respect to appropriate controls at this intersection. ~ · 1. ~stablishing a reduced speed on b~th North and SOuth bound traffic on Highway ~65 immediately to. avoid any tragic accidents, such as occurred in December, 1968. 2. Proceed with a study of the appropriate timing to properly platoon Central Avenue traffic, thereby adding sufficient spacing, between groups of automobiles to allow pedestrians time to cross. 3. Erect flashing amber lights on the existing, or ®n over,sized school crossing sighs in advance of the intersection. 4. f Consider increasing 'the time for pedestrians crossing in conjunction ~' with the changes considered on the platooning of automobile traffic. 5.~ Review the 'possibility of re-.locating thepedes.trian push buttons in such a way as ~o avoid the problems of snow embankments blocking access to said buttons. BE iT FURTHER P~SOLVED that the Highway Department proceed with the foregoing s~dy and changes as quickly as~is reasorfDly possible. Roll Call - All Ayes.
