Four neighbors were present and they all spoke agains~ permitting this ~

Letter from. Police.Chief requestin~ to advertise for bids f6r the p~rchas~
of two patroi.cars and one ~nvest~gator s car.
Motion by King sec6nded by Land, that the City Manager be authorized to
advertise for bids for' thss~ three'cars, 'to be 6Pened February 10th,1969,
Request for City Inspector to attend the 13th ~nnual Institute for
Building Officials, January 20, 21 and 22, 1969.
Motion by Land, seconded by Logacz, that this request be granted
with~expenseS paid. Roll Call ' All Ayes.
Request for authorization for up to two people to attend the Air
Pollution Conference at the U. of M., January 27, and 28~ 1969.
Motion by Land, seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized
to send one person to this conference with expenses paid. Roll Call -
All Ayes.
Subdivision request by City Manager to divide Lot 43 (Ex. W. 50' of
S. 130') Block 2, Res. Hills, to at, in a back lot line common with
adjoining subdivided properties-to the west.
Motion by King seconded by Logacz, that this subdivision request be
granted and that the special'assessments of $447.25 remain with the
building site. Roll Call - All Ayes.
No action taken on the City Engineer's proposal to acquiEe Lots 1
and 30, Block 73, Columbia Heights Annex, which would be a.30 foot
strip of land in line with the south edge of 40th Avenue between
Main and California Streets. We need this land for our trunk
watermain loop and possible future roadway. He was asked to meet
with Miss Gadbois who owns the land north of this 30 foot strip and
inform her of our plans.
Dick Borchardt, 4327 Jefferson Street was present and discussed h~
problem of parking as there is no alley in this block. This alley
has never been platted, but investigations will be made as to
getting access to the back yards in this block, probably with a
partial alley opening, if a complete alley is not possible.
Motion by King, se~nded by Logacz, that the license applications
as per list attached, be granted upon payment of the propert~ees.
