Motion by King seconded by Jeska, that Market Ford Sales be awarded this bid'in the amount of $1,988.62, including trade-in. Roll Call-All Ayes. As per bid tabulation attached. Hearing held on alley surfacing, including storm drain, between Main and 2nd Street, from 44th to 45th. The estimated cost for storm sewer in- stallation and concrete paving of this alley was given as $6.50 per front foot. The residents present at this meeting were against this alley paving and a petition was received against this alley improvement signed by over 70% of the property owners. Motion by Land seconded by Jeska, that the request for paving this alley be denied. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Firs~ reading Ordinance No. 687, Rezoning 3938 5th Street N.E. First reading Ordinance No. 688, Control & Prevention of Dutch Elm Disease. First reading Ordinance No. 689, Setting Licensing & Permits for Furnace Cleaners. Motion by King seconded by Jeska, that the matter of parking meter fees be referred to the ~raffic Commission for their recommendations. Roll Call - All Ayes. The subdivision request for Lot 43 (Ex.W. 50' of S.130') BlOck 2, Res. Hills, was discussed by no action taken. ~ Request for quthorization to move house from 809-11 40th Avenue to 1110-12 43% Avenue. Motion by Jeska seconded by King, that approval be given to Mr. Dumphy to ~ move this double'bungalow as recommended by the Planning & Zoning Commissio~ and that the completion time be set at June 1, 1969, with the requirement . to post a $500,00 .bond to guarantee this completion date. Roll Call-Ail Aye~ Motion by King seconded by Land, that a Restaurant License be issued to Clark's Giant Submarine Sandwich chain, for the proper~y at 4621 Central Avenue. Roll Call -Ail Ayes'. 112. Meeting called to order at 6:53 p.m. ~ Roll Call: Land, Logacz,Nawrocki - present. King and Jeska - absent. .. A hearing was held on establishing a~cal Housing Authority.' A large group of Senior Citizens were present, at this meeting, and Mr. Anderson of the. Housing Bureau ~as also present. He explained the lea~e program which has been recommended as the most desirable at this time for Columbia Heights. The survey that was takenldid not bring out a sufficient number of .people with 10w incomes%..' ~ It has not been established as yet in this community, but would not exceed.more khan $3,000 income per year for a single person and $3,600 for a Couple, with assets not to exceed $10,000. We should start with a leasing program and if w~ cannot find any apart- ments available, then we could go to building our own building, after ~making a further survey.
