awarded to Violette Dec. CO. for the total amount of $1,400.00, and that
the Mayor and City Manager be authorized to enter into a contract for

A Hearing was held on Street opening an~ grading of ~44'~ AVenue. An
estimated cost of $22.20 was given for street opening, lot grading,
water, sewer and drains. Several residents were present from this
area and most of them objected to the grading cost being assessed on
a per foot basis on all property, and suggested this cost be charged
on a per lot basis for those who needed grading or fill. Momt of them
stated' they, were not against this ~street opening but did not want to pay
for grading this area if their lot did not need grading or fill.

Mr. G.G. Golden of Golden Construction Co., was pr~e~en~-and discussed with
'.the Council his ~applica~ion for contractor's license, .Phich has' been
denied by the eity ~Manager ~nd Building Inspector, as he has' f~iied to
complete two garages which were started last year.

-Contractor,s License, be denied until.such time. as these pr6blem's present
in Columbia Heights are cleared up to th~ satisfaction of the 'City

The City Engineer requested permission to call for bids on installation
of watermain on 37th Place and 37th Avenue, from Stinson .to Hart Blvd.
Motion by Jeska seconded by Land, that the City Manager be authorized
to call for bids on this watermain, to be opened March 25,1968.

to advertise for bids'on Road Aggregates for 1968 construction season,

Motion by Jeska seconded by~Logacz, that the City Manager be authorized
to advertise for bids on a Truck complete with Body & Hoist, to be opened
April 8, 1968. Roi1 Call - Ail Ayes.
Motion by Jeska seconded by Land, that the license applications as per
list be granted upon payment of the proper fees. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
Two representatives for the Pizza Hut were present and were again assured
-that upon meeting the requirements of the Planning & Zoning Commission,
the O~-Sale Beer License as requested ~ould be approved.
