A~ard of Bid'on Two Police Cars: Motion by King seconded by Jeska, that Brookdale Chrysler-Plymouth be awarded the bid on two Police Cars in the total amount of $4,557~13, includin~ trade-in of 1963 Chevrolet Car, on the basis of low bid~ Roll Call - All ~¥es. One bid received for a Used 50 H.P. Motor Grader, from ~oad Machihery and Supplies, for a Galion Model 503, 1953 Model, 4-cylinder Inter- national Gas at $2,500.00 with trade-in allowance for I941 Allib Chalmers of $500,00, making a net price of $2,000.00. Mr. Gene Rancone, ~St. Paul, Minnesota, and other ~interested people in this business'v~nture were present'and-stated they ~wanted to meet the requirements as set forth by the City'of Columbia~ ~eights, as to parking, placement of'building, etc. There ~ould be an ~investment of between $125,000 and $150,000 in this place in Columbia · ~eights. They would agree'to also h~ve a resident manager-fOr this ~business. It was the determination Of the Council~that they'would be ~'in agreement with this proposal for'a~beer license as requested4 ~SUbdivision request presented from RiChard E. & Betty MJ T~emme~,~ 1319 '43rd Avenue to divide the W~ of Lot~46, 'Block 2, Res. Hills,~ into two ~lotS. ~ ~Recess called at 9:30 p.m. Meeting called to order at ~Consideration of'subdivision request.~ Motion by Jeska seconded by ~Logacz, that this lot subdivision request be granted. "Roll Call-Ail Ayes. ~The~City Manager reminded the council'that on Saturday, March 2nd~at ~9~a.m. there would be an informal meeting in the Council chambers with ~the property owners on'platting and grading of~44~.A~enue.- Also'a ~reminder ~that. on March 6th at 7 p.m. an informal meeting wil! be"held~to review ~the engineering proposals for 1968. ~it was suggested that the'Planning & Zoning Commission consider requir- ~ing garages to'be~buil~ in future construction. ~Spedifications for a Heavy Du~y Dump Truck were discussed~and Call for ~id~ will be prepared by the next meeting.~ -- 15. Motion by King seconded by Jeska, that expenses for two people be author- ized, to attend the 5th Annual Sewer Seminar by American Pipe Services on March 5 and 6. ~ Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King ~seconded by Logacz, that the license applications as per list attached, be approved-upon payment of the ~roper ~fees, and include the license applications for 4010 Central Ave. by Dale Erwin Lindquist, for On and Off Sale Beer and Restaurant. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Regarding the appointments to Commissions and Boards this spring, the Mayor asked'that letters go out to the individuals whose terms expire as to whether they want to be considered for re-appointment. The Council approved participation in League of Minnesota Municipalities salary surveys. Mr. Land reported that on previous meetings of the S~.Citizen's Committee, it had not been-possible for all members to be present, so that very.little had been accomploshed and no~positive~action taken, but a meeting was sched- uled for February 29th~and hopefully all five members would be present. Motion by King seconded by Land, tha-~ the City Manager~be authorized to spend up to $990.00 for a new truck Dump Box and Hoist. Roll Call-All Ayes. Resolution offered by Land seconded by Jeska,~BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the city 6f Columbia Heights, that the 1968 Salary for the Sewer a~d Water Foreman, be Set at the same rate as the Street Foreman, effective Jani~ru 1, 1968.'
