pay 8198.00 and that would leave

These amounts were agreeable to
both parties concerned and the foll-
owing Resolution was passed:

fore had: Special 'assessment No.575.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City
of Columbia Heights, Minnesota,met
on the llth day of December, 1967, at
'the'City Hall Council Chambers, being the time and place set when and where
all persons interested could appear and be heard by the Council with respect
to benefits, and to the proportion of the cost of making the local improve-
ment above described, a notice of such hearing having been heretofore duly
published as required by law, and a notice mailed to each property owner
of record stating'the proposed amount of the assessment; and,
WHEREAS, this council has heretofore estimated and fixed the cost of such
local improvement and has prepared an assessmen~ roll~ther~fore-
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. That this Council does hereby, adopt the aforesaid assessment
roll known and described as "Assessment Roll for Local Improvement N°.575."
Section 2. That this council hereby finds and determines that each of the.
lots ahd parcels of'land enumerated in said assessment roll, was and is
especially benefitted by such improvement in an amount not less than the
amount set opposite in the column headed "Total amount of lien against
each tract of land". And this council further finds and determines that

A d~scussion on Senior Citizen Housing was, scheduled ~t this time but Mr.
Elmer Binford who would have some information for us, was not able to be
here this evening, but he agreed to come to our Decembem 26th meeting..
This will be announced in the C.H. Record ~nd any interested persons
are invited to come. o

a~vertise'for bids for Dog Catching Service for 1968, bidS~to be.opened

advertise fo~ bids on Legal Publications for 1968, to be opened becember
The proposed 98x98' Body Shop addition to the Volkswagon building at4849
C~ntral Ave., was discussed. ~The Planning & Zoning Commission. have recom-
mended approval, of this building permit when final plans arePresented,
with the~structure to be located in accordance with the preliminary sketch
~hown at the P.& Z. Com. meeting. ~
Request for subdivision from Mark.Z..jones, to divide Lot 6~Block 3,Res.
Hills, except easements for streets.. Recommended by the PlannS~g & Zoning
commission. This lot would be divided into.six building lots.
Motion~by Land seconded by..Jeska, that this subdi¥ision request be gr~nted,
~ith 'the special assessments to. be split according to the square foOtage
of each lot. This is for $58t Storm sewer amounting to $775.40. ."Roll

Request from Mark Z.Jones to move a house onto the West 60 fset of the
North 150 feet, except the No.5' for street..
Motion by Jeska 'seconded by Land, that permission.be granted'to Mark Z.
Jones to move a 32x24 houss from HQpkins onto this lot, as approved by
'the Plannihg ~ Zoning Commission. Roi1 Call: Land, King, JeS~a, Logacz -
Ayes. Nawrocki - Naye. Mr. Nawrocki stated hevoted Naye.because
he is not-in favor of moving old houses into new communitiesll

Home Occupancy permit request from John Hemak, 811 44th Ave. N.E., to repair,
service and sell radios, TV sets and Phonographs, and sound equipment, sell
phonograph records. The matter of selling these various items was discussed
and Mr. Romank of 4413 Quincy St. was present and stated he is against a
permit to sell TV's, Radios, etc., but is not against the repair and service'
lng permit.
Motion by Land seconded by Logacz, that this Home Occupancy Permit request
of John Hemak, be tabled until the next council meeting, December 26th, so
that interested parties could be heard, and send out notices within 300 feet.
Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
Motion by Land seconded by Jeska, that the City Manager be authorized to
advertise for bids for the following vehicles: 2,3/4-ton Pickups, 1 Dump
truck and one 4-wheel drive utility vehicle, Jeep type~Broncho or scout),
to be opened on January 8, 1968. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A Tree trimming report was presented by Mr. B~own for the area between
4th Street and Quincy St.
Motion by Jeska seconded by Logacz, that the City Manager be authorized to
advertise for a hearing to be heard on January 8th, 1968, for tree trimming,
which would include 4th, 5th, 6th and7th streets between 40th and 45th Avenue
and all interested property owners to be notified. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Mr. Wm. Farmer of Columbia Heights Motors, 4869 Central Ave. arrived at the
meeting at this time and presented plans and specifications for the proposed
expansion of their building. These were gone over and discussed.
Motion by King seconded by Land, that ~he licenses as listed and including
Christmas Tree license application of Robert Skiles, 4042 Central Ave., be
granted upon payment of the proper fees, and that the fees be waived for
the Lion's Club and Rev. John L. Rios (Solicitors permit). Roll Call -
All Ayes.
Mr. George Brown discussed the Glover property and the possibility of
reaching an agreement withMr. Glover on the area and lake development.
