Special Meeting November..~2, 1967
Meeting called to order at 7:~5 P.m.- Roll Call: Land, King., 'Logacz -
present. Jeska and~Nawrbcki - Absent. In 'the absence of
Mayor Nawrocki, who is out of town, the Council President assumed the
Chairmanship.
This meeting is held for the purpose of passing on the 1968 Budget.
The City Manager made a report on budget figures and adjustments, and
presented a~ resolution on setting forth 'the Tax Levy for 1968, also
resolution on the General Fund of the-City of Columbia Heights..
Resolution offered by Land seconded by Logacz, Setting Forth the tax levy
for the 1968 Calendar year. BE IT HEP~EBY RESOLVED THAT:
WHEREAS:-The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, has ~at various
times ..met for the purpose of discusSing the budget for the year 1968, and
WHEREAS: The City Council' has determined that the following.' amounts of
the budget be raised by Taxation:
NO~, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, tha% the CoUnty Auditor. of .Anoka
County be, and he is hereby instructed and authorized to levy the follow-
ing'amounts for the year 1968 for various city funds, as follOws:

Resolution offered by Logacz seconded by Land, Declaring the'General Fund of
the City of Columbia Heights to consist of the Administration,Police, Court,
Fire, Street, Library, Park,Building and Band Fund~. -
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT:
WHEREAS: The City of Columbia Heights is in the process of adopting the
standard cl~ssifZcation of accounts as the accounting schedule for the
'city records beginning January 1, 1968, and
WHEREAS: The authorization for the establishment of a General Fund is
set forth in Section 69 ('c) of the City Charter. and said gr0~pin~ of'
funds conforms with this standard classification.
NO~, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Administration,Police,
Court, Fire, Street, Library,Park, Building and Band Funds of the City of
Columbia Heights be, and they are hereby declared to be the General Fund
of the City of Columbia Heights as of December 31, 1967. RollCall-All Ayes.

Discussion on Watermain service west of Main Street and 38th Avenue, but
no action was taken.

Regular Meeting
Meeting called to order at 8:05 p.m.
Logacz, Jeska - present.
November 13, 1967
Roll Call: Land, King, Nawrocki,
Invocation offered by Chaplain Schroeder of Crestview Nursing Home.
Chaplain Schroeder commented he wished to complement the engineering
department for the good work they had done in cleaning up the area North
of 44th Avenue near Crestview Nursing ~iome. He also stated that
Crestview are opening a new section of sixty beds, which will make a total
of 120 beds and an open house will be held sometime in December and the
City Council are asked to be their guests.
The League'of Women Voters conducted an informal meeting between 7 and 8
p.m. this evening for the purpose of discussing the proposed change of
Election Day. RepresentativeS from the local D.F.L. and Republican
Parties were also present at this meeting. The people present had no
objection to the change in election date, as set forth in the proposed
Ordinance, and also a letter was received from the Ralph Pohl Post Unit
~367. ~erican Legion Auxiliary, stating they had no objection to this
change.
Motion by Jeska seconded by Logacz, that the minutes of the last regular
and special meetings be approved as presented in writing, and the reading
be dispensed with. Roll Call ~ All Ayes.
