HomeMy WebLinkAboutOct 30, 1967101. OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Special Meeting October 30, 1967 Meeting called to order at 8:05 p.m. Roll Call: Land, Jeska,Logacz, Nawrocki - present. King - absent. A proclamation was read by Mayor NaWrocki, calling upon the people to observe November llth, 1967 as Veteran's Day. The M~yor announced he had called this meeting for the purpose of reviewing the 1968,Budget and the public was invited. Only 13 people were present and they were given the opportunity to discuss various matters and ask questions. One of the major project~ that the city has been involved with is the water system~transmission lines which have been installed up to the p~esent time, also the re-construction of 44th Avenue between Main Street and Central Avenue, which is completed except for some cleanup work, and Highway ~47 completion this year after being started some thirty years ago, including installation of the Foot Bridge at 42nd Avenue. Each item in the Budget was reviewed and discussed and explained, if necessary. The re-eva~uation was discussed and explained, as to how it affects our tax ~tructure, also the sales Tax which will result in benefits to the. home owners. A l~st was presented of Tax estimates for taxes payable in 1968, on home~ valued from $9,000 thru $40,000. At the completion o~ the Review of'the 1968 Budget, Mr. McCline commented that the records were well presented and the rest of the people in attend- ance voi~ed their agreement. ~, A report was made on the bids for painting the exterior of the Municipal building and the low Bidder was recommended as a qualified contractor. Motion~by Jeska seconded by Land, that Buranan-Washburn Decorating Co. of~ Hamel, Minnesota, be awarded the bid in the total amount of $753.00, and that the Mayor and city Manager be auth0rized to enter into a contract fo~ this work. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion, by Land seconded by Jeska, that the Recreation Commission be auth- orize~ to transfer $50.00 from their operating budget to the revolving fund, to bring the revolving fund back to the 8250.00, which was originally set.
