That a careful estimate of the cost of the improvement has'been'made by the City Manager and the several lots and parcels of land fonting upon and adjacent .to such proposed improvement, which he deemed ben- efited thereby,were properly notified of said hearings, and 4. That the City Manager shall also list the names and owners of the several parcels so improved as nearly as can 'be ascertained.- 5. These improvements shall also be known as Project No.612." The cost estimate was given as 36¢ per foot Str. eet charge[~and' 12¢ per foot Avenue charge. Attached is_a list of the..streets and.-Avenues proposed. Several people w~re present from these areas where the seal coating is "proposed and asked~questions regarding this work and..gave their' opinions. Also a Petition was received from residents on~'~-th Street between '48th and 49th, who feel this street should be repaired, but the cost Should hot be assessed against "ahem directly. They a~so listed several other problems which they had. in their area. Motion by Land seconded by Logacz, that this petition b'e pla'ced on file. Motion on. the 10'ch day of July, .1967, ordered notice of a hearing to be given to property Owners;and WP~REAS: pursuant to a notice of hearing certain residents appeared at a Couhcil Meeting on the 31st ~day of July, 1967, and " ~,~REAS, the Council determines to proceed with this local improvement, a portion of the cost being dezzayed by special assessments under Charter provisions. :' '' NOW, TI~EPJEFORE, IT iS HEREBY PCESOLVED: 1'. Motion by Jeska seconded by Logacz, that the hearing on seal coating of 5th Street, between 50th and 51st, be continued until the next regular council meeting,~ August 14'th, and that notices be sent to the affected property owners. Mr. & Mrs. Oscar Beckman fro~ 637 40th Avenue N.E. were present~ as some arrangements must b~ made by them to connect to a Sanitary Sewer, as their cesspool cannot be used any longer. There are two possibilities of connect- ing to the sanitary sewer, one of'which is to arrange to get permission to connect t~ the line that serves 631 37th ,Avenue and the other is to get permission from ~.L~nneapolis to connect to their line in 37th Avenue. Applications have been received fro~o two cad coi~]panies for license to operate in Columbia Heights, namely urban Radio Cab Co. and Park 2:a-. 2utler who operated I-ieights Cab Co. was present and reported as to his operation of Taxicab service in Columbi'a Heights and that he' is no longer able to continue in business.
