Motion by Land seconded by Logacz, that Bob King be renamed Council
President for .the next two years. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by King-seconded by Land, that FPs. Pritchard be re-appointed as
council Secretary. , Roll Call - All Ayes.
~Dti6n by King seconded by Land, that regular council meetings be held
the second and fourth Llondays of each month, at 8 p.m. Roll Call-All Ayes.

Motion by Land seconded by Logacz, that Bob King be appointed to serve as

Resolution offered by King seconded by ~Logacz, BE IT t~REBY RESOLVED, by
the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, 'that
W~REAS, Miss Judith Carlson is representing our community in the Aquatennia]
Queen contest in the city of Minneapolis for 1967, and
WP~REA~, The City Council on behalf of our citizens, wish to extend our
congratulations to Miss Carlson for the fine job she has done of represent-
ing our city during the past year. ~
NC~;, THEREFORE, this Resolution be declared as our official means of con-
veying the best wishes of our community to Miss carlson in the forthcoming
Aquatennial Queen Contest. Roll call - All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Land seconded by King, BE IT !~REBY RESOLVED by the
City Council of the city of Columbia Heights, that the City Treasurer be
and she is hereby instructed to transfer from the Liquor Fund as follows:
$10,000.00 to the A~ministration Fund and $15,000.00 to the Library Fund,
and that there are sufficient moneys in said liquor'fund to make such

oInc'., has~ presented to the City of Columbia Heights a'building size' and
parking plan layout, and .....
WPHEREAS, Based upon the size and use of the building the Planning and
Zoning Commission of the City of CSlumbia Heights has determined that, u
under Section 7 of Ordinance 462 and all ;'amendment~ thereto, 623 parking
spaces are required, and
' ~'~ERE~S, '~he p'arking~-p-l-an' presented contains 600 parking spaces, and
WME ~REA.S, 'the Planning and Zoning Commission recommends the granting o.f a
waiver of the number and type of parking spaces~
NeEdY, TiTEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED:
1. That the plan as presented be pl-aced on file with the Zoning Admin-
isSrator, ~ a copy of which should be attached to 'this Resolution and
marked as ~E~hibit 1. '"

street ~off on July 16th, for the purpose of holding a neighborhood
picnic, be granted subject to'the sup%rvi~ion of the pplice department.

the garage be placed qo closer than 20 feet from the center of the alley.
Motion by King seconded by/Land, .that the vote'on the request ~or side

and the matter be tabled until the next regular councit~meeting, July

Request from ~164 Tyler St. for side yard waiver to 2 feet in lieu~of
3 feet, to build a garage. ·
Motion by Land seconded by Logacz, that this'side yard waiver request be
granted to.allow the garag? to be built within 2 feet of the lot line in
lieu of 3 feet. ~ Roll Call - All Ayes.
Petition received opposing allsy paving b~tween univs~ty & 3rd ~t. _
from 37th to 38th. ~-.'Earl Dot~ was · r. esent, p and stated he had not
received notice of hearing for this'paving which was held this spring.
He stated he is very much opposed to this paving, and also -the other
signers on this petltion. This was approved for paving thi~'spring
and contracts have been let.

Notion by King~ 'that this Petition be placed on file. This mo~ion did
not, pass for lack of a second.·
Motion by Land seconded by Logacz, that a re-hearing be set for July 2~.-,
1967, and that all' property owners be notified of the re-consideration
for the paving of this alley, which was approved for paving this spring.

A letter was received from ~Ms. K.D. 'Jalton of 4850 Madison St. requesting
to be on the agenda for this meeting regarding garbage pickup service.
~s. Walton was pres.ent at the meeting and also several other residents
who had complaints on garbage service.
Motion by King seconded Dy Logacz, that the City ~4anagcr be authorized to
advertise for bids to be opened at thc next meeting, July 24th,1967, on
the purchase of an Ice Cube Machine for the On-sale Liquor Store. Roll
Call - All Ayes.
The Board of Ec~ualization meeting will be Wednesday, july 12, 1967,
in the Court Chambers, at 7:30 p.m.
At 9 p.m. a meeting will be held with St. Anthony Village, regarding
Stinson Blvd. etc. (July 12, 1967).
Request for Home Occupation permit for a Beauty Shop in home at 4831
Washington St.. This would be in a room in the front of the split level
house and no signs would be used. Three adjacent home owners were present
objec,ting to, a bea~uty shop in this home.

of opposition fro;u several residents. Roll Call: Land and Logacz - Ayes.
King and Nawrocki - Nayes. I~ir. Nawrocki stated he voted against this
permit as he would recommend holding a hearing and notify residents within
300 feet of 4831 Washington St.
~'totion by King seconded by Logacz, that-' a hearing be held August 14th, at
a regular council meeting, on this application for I-tome Occupancy permit for
a Beauty Shop at 4831 Washington St., notices to be sent to residents
within 300 feet. Roll Call: King, ,Logacz, Nawrocki - Ayes. Land - Naye.
Motion by King seconded by Land, that -thc license applications and Electrical
Registrations as per attached list, be approv~ed upon payment of the proper
fees, with the exception of the Home Occupation Permit at 4831 Washington St.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
First reading of Ordinance No.652, LicenSing,and regulating the use of
Mechanical amusement devices for Children.
First reading of ordinance No.653, Licensing and regulating the use of
Bowling Alleys.
.Mr. Brown reported the McWilli~,ns is taking legal action against the city
for payment on watermain installations, on which the city contends there
is an over-charge.
T4otion by King seconded by Land, that the estimate of 1,4cDonald and Assoc-
iates, in the amount of $1,764.11 for water line project, be approved for
payment, and that the claim of I'~IcDonald & Associates in the amount of
$928.20 for pipe received from -them by the city, also be approved for
payment. Roll call - All Ayes.
