Motion ~.~kx~k~ by Orendorff seconded by Land, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids on constr~ction work on Storm Sewer Project ~6608, to be opened at the next regular meeting, November 14,1966. Motion by King seconded b~ Orendorff,.~that the,,"~e~t~ng adjourn p.m. Roll Call' - All Ayes. seCretary of the council at 10: 20 OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Special Meeting October 25, 1966 Meeting' called to order at 8:08 p.m. Roll Call: Land, King, Nawr0cki, :jesRa :.:.-. - present. Orendorff - absent. The Mayor reported ~. Orendorff will be unable to attend the meeting this evening. This meeting is held for the purpose of holding a hearing on the proposed 1967 Budget. The following review was held on 1966 major projects and various departments of the CitY. About 45 people were present, and dis- cussed various matters. A map showing storm sewers already installed and those proposed was projec-~-ed on the. wall with the Projector, so that. everyone could get a good picture of what is,being done. Also a map showing recent large watermains which have been installed and what is proposed to be installed in the nea~ future was projected. ~.~hen 'this is completed we ,should have no lo%~ water pressure during the-slummer months. A water Supply contract has been entered into with Minneapolis which will benefit Columbia Heights on cost and supply, of ~,~ater. The Library expansion was discussed. The number of books has increased from 50,000 in 1960 to 115,000 in 1965 and is even greater in 1966. :Plans for 1967 were discussed and the various departmental budgets and needs were gone over. The disbursements and revenues in each' department were gone over and discussed. Traffic lights will be install%d on the new University Avenue at 40th, 44th, and 49th Avenues, and at 51st Avenue school crossing signals. A. foot bridge will be installed on 42nd Ave. crossing University Ave. ~ Mill rates for City, County, State and School were shown from 1964 thru 1967.
