Granular and 6,000 lbs Peletized compound. Second reading ordinance ~z~.638. Offered by Jeska seconded by Land. Roll Call - All Ayes. 556 The first reading of Ordinance No.639 wax tabled until December 27,1966. First reading of Ordinance No.640, Adopting the Uniform Housing Code 1964 Edition by reference. Second reading will be January 23,1967. The First reading of Ordinance No.641, Regulating the erection, placement and maintenance of fences in the City of Columbia Heights, will be January 9, 1967. Review of November 29th Assessment hearings. ~.ROhlf, 4153 Madison was present and stated that he had not wanted any sidewalk replacement in front of his home but there was one block replaced. Also Mayor Nawrocki reported he had talked to b~s. Munsch, 3900 Central Ave. and she wanted their sidewalk replacement checked. Motion by King seconded by Land, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids on Legal Publications for 1967, to be opened at the next regular meeting, December 27, 1966. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~tion by King seconded by Jeska, 'that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids on Dog Control for 1967, to be opened at the December 27th meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Land seconded by Jeska, 'that I~. Ralph Bauer be granted expenses to attend an evening course at Macalester College, in the ~mount of $77.00 for Tuition and books, upon successful completion of 'this course. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Jeska seconded by Orendorff, that check ~3324 issued to Lorraine Maas for election duty, be cancelled as it had became lost, and check ~3729 issued as replacement. Roll Call - All'Ayes. Request for Special Use Permit from Manette, Inc., 4919 Central Ave. N.E. to operate an Instant Printing Service. Motion by King seconded by Jeska, that this request be granted. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Manager reported that the State Tax Commissioner had indicated a shortage in their fund for re-assessment work and suggested that we might re request an advance from 'the county to speed up the re-assessment work, provided we could repay the County on the same basis as we would repay the State. The Council agreed to have the Manager make contact with the county in this regard. The Council concurred with 'the City Engineer to use Cargard through F~bruary and 'then use salt, for ice control. 14r. ~rown reported the North Mathaire storm sewer is progressing satisfactorily. The engineering department are making surveys of alleys that are not surfaced, and especially -those that have grade problems, so that possibly -they can be paved next year. The City Attorney reported regarding the Rice Creek Water shed in which St. Anthony, New Brighton and Columbia Heights would participate. Also he reported receiving a call from john [~iiller of Johnny's Meat, objecting to paying for a special use permit, and other business establishments are also objecting to this fee. 557 Motion by Jeska seconded by King, that the attached list of license applica- tions be approved upon payment of the proper fees. Roll Call - All Ayes. A report was received from -the Police Department regarding numerous calls which have been made for police service at the Red Barn and 'the Council asked that the Manager be made aware of this report on their establishment. Motion by King seconded by Jeska, that the list of Special use Permits be granted , upon payment of the proper fees, with the exception of 'the North- east TV and Radio sales and repair shop, 811 44th A.ve.N.E., and Bonneville Motors,4042 Central Ave. N.E. Roll Call - All Ayes. Notion by Jeska seconded by King, 'that the renewal of Special Use permit for the Northeast Radio & TV Repair Shop, be for the purpose of service on radios and TV~ only. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Orendorff seconded by King, that the Bonneville Motors special Use permit, be turned over to the City Manager for further report. Roll Call - All Ayes.
