After a review of the storm sewer
bids, the following action was
taken:

that the awarding of storm sewer
bids be tabled until October 25th.

ation in alley to serve east side
of university, from approximately
44~j south to &3rd Avenue. A petition
was received opposing this watermain
installation. Several residents
from this area were present and
most of them %sere against this
watermain.

that this ~atermain extension be
denied at the presez~ time, and 'the
petition be placed on file indicating
that the majority of the people
oppose this installation at this
time. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Hearing held on installation of Base material on £.icKinley Street, 39)~_
to 40th. The Engineer gave an estimated cost of $1.50 per front foot
and $.50 Avenue charge for installation of approximately 5~' of aggregate.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the City I.ianager be authorized to
proceed with base material on I, IcKi~%y'Street- Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
Resolution offered by King seconded by Land, BE i'i' i-.~PCEBY RESOLVED by the
City Council of the City of Colmmbia Heights, that the County Auditor be,
he is hereby directed to levy the delinquent special assessments on the
properties in the City of Columbia I-[eights as submitted on the duplicate
statement form with the amount to be levied indicated opposite the stamp
"Certified to County Auditor".
BE IT FURT~FER RESOLVED, that the foregoing amounts shall be included in
the individual real estate tax statements for the current year and identi-
fied -thereon as special assessments.
Said levies shall be enforced and collected in the manner provided for
the enforcement and collection of state and county taxes under and in
accordance~ with. the provisions of the ~eneral laws of the state. A. i1
assessments wi'ch penalties and interest as indicated thereon paid

A reminder was iaade of the budget meeting to be held r[~uesday evening,
October 12th at ~ p.m.
The City Engineer reported the Sewer Department will replace a storm sewer
pipe, west of Madison, north of 43rd Avenue, with corrugated pipe in place
of the old concrete pipe, which has separated and shifted causing water
problems in the adjoining house.
Motion by King seconded by Land, that the City Manager be authorized to
advertise for bids for sewer pipe cleaning compound, to be opened
November S, 1965. Roll Call - ~.!1 Ayes.
