Goetz of Calvary Covenant Church. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that the minutes of the last regular meeting be approved as presented in writing and the reading be dispensed with. First reading Ordinance No.592, Being an ordinance amending Ordinance No.438, regulating heating, ventilating, air conditioning, heating equipment and licensing heating contractors. Hearing held on installation of utilities in Hilltop Third Unit not already served, requested by BelMar Builders. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with the installation of these utilities. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Land, that the City Manager be authorized to draw an agreement with BelMar Builders relating to the installation of utilities in Hilltop Third Unit not presently served, this agreement to be reviewed by the Council at the next meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter was received from the School Board regarding a resolution passed by them for a sidewalk installation on one side of 49th Avenue from Central to West Upland Crest. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise a hearing to be held March 22, 1965, on install- ation of sidewalk on south side of 49th Avenue between Central and Johnson Street, and on either the north or south side from Johnson St. to West Upland Crest. roll Call - All Ayes. The lease arrangement for a Printing Calculator for the engineering department was discussed and the Council stated they would like to have a demonstration of this machine and then take this matter up at the next council meeting. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that expenses be allowed for up to four people to attend the Civil Defense Conference and luncheon on Thursday, February 25th. Roll Call - All Ayes. No action was taken regarding the private watermain for 4415 Main St. Mr. Watson reported regarding the plans to convert the ~1 Off Sale store into a self-service, and will have further information at a later date. The Assistant City Engineer reported regarding the land where a future new city garage will be built and the possibility of drying this land out or the installation of a storm sewer. Resolution offered by Orendorff seconded by King, WHEREAS, S.F. 152 of the 64th Session of the Legislature of the State of Minnesota, has been forwarded to the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, and WHEREAS, the proposed legislation has been thoroughly examined and discussed, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that passage of Section I of said Bill be not effected in that the Bill apparently requires the current year Police pensions to be taxed by the City in addition to the 1½ Mill, and ALSO, that Section I requires a $200,000 minimum, whereas the $150,000 is adequate , the City Council does urge that subdivision two and subdivision three of S.F. 152, be passed as amended. All Ayes. 339 Motion by King seconded by Land, that the License applications be granted as per attached list, upon payment of the proper fees. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Engineer brought up the fact that Railroad signals are badly needed at 37th Avenue and Stinson Blvd., and he was asked to check with St. Anthony Village and the Soo Line Railroad on this matter. The City Manager was asked to contact Mr. Bob Mood of the Bloomington Health Department, regarding help on health inspections on a consulting basis.
