Meeting called to order at 6:40 p.m. Ail members present.
First reading of Ordinance No.5~7, Being an Ordinance conveying Lots
1 thru 4 inclusive, and Lots 13 thru 16 inclusive, Jlock 3, Apache
Heights.
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that a special meeting be set for
9 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 1964, for consideration of the second
reading of Ordinance No.587, and passing the Resolution for Lucille
Hawkins. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Roll Call - Ail Ayes.

Resolution offered by Nawrocki seconded Dy King, BE IT HEREBY RE.SOLVED
by the City Council of the City of Colm~bia Heights, that
'WHEREAS, Lucille Hawkins has devoted thirty-four years of her life-time
to the service of the Municipal Library System of the City of Columbia
Heights, and
W~REAS, during these years of devotion 'the library has grown from a fe%~
hundred volumes to ~nore than fourteen thousand volumes.
SO BE IT RESOLVED, that this Counci~ for and on behalf of themselves a~d
the community they represent-, thank you Lucille Hawkins; thank you for
your devotion' thank you for your patience; thank you for your sacrifices
and for all the things that you have done in the service of the City of
Columbia Heights. Roll Call - All Ayes.
The City Manager gave a report on skunk 'oroblems in Columbia Heights.
~erever skunks have been reported it has been investigated and quite
a few have been caught so far.
Motion by King seconded by Nawrocki, that the City Manager be instructed
to contact the attorney for Killoren, 3713 Buchanan 3t.N.E., as regards
to the disposition of the property and removal of skunks at same location,
and that the City Attorney will conduct an investigation as to the City's
responsiDility and authority to dispose of the nuisance. Roll Call-All Ayes.
Second reading of Ordinance No.587. Offered by King seconded by Land.
Motion by King seconded by Nawrocki, that the n'~ee~ing adjourn at 9:15 p.m.
