HomeMy WebLinkAboutDec 15, 1964OFF ICIAL PROCEEDINGS Special Meeting December 15, 1964 Meeting called to order at 8 p.m. Roll Call: King, Land, Orendorff and Nawrocki - present. Armstrong - absent. Councilman King, Council President, presided. This meeting is held for the purpose of Hearings on Special Assessments for construction completed this year. Hearings were held on assessment rolls for the following improvements: Nos. 375, 454, 481, 50S, 514, 520, 521, 525, 526, 527, 529, 530, 531, 532, 533, 534, 535, 537, 53~, 540, 541, 542, 543, 544 and 553. Several residents were present who wished to ask questions and gain in- formation. Regarding ~375, Mr. Watson explained the situation and said this alley would be taken care of and no further assessments made. This would be fixed by June 1, 1965. A petition was received regarding this alley stating the conditions existing. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Land, that this petition from property owners be placed on file. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Regarding ~508, edges will be straightened and checked into where it was reported water sets near the 4~th Avenue end. Regarding ~81, the work will be completed back of the curbs by July 1,1965. ~541 was discussed and it was a~reed to lower the cost to $1.17 per foot, in lieu of the $1.41 as puSlished. Resolution offered by Land seconded by Orendorff, adopting assessment rolls for the following local improvements and determining that said improvements have been made and ratifying and confirming all other pro- ceedings, heretofore had: Special assessment numbers 375, 454, 481,508, 514, 520, 521, 525, 526, 527, 529, 530, 531, 532, 533, 534, 535, 537, 538, 540, 541, 542, 543, 544 and 553. That said assessments may be paid in full without interest on or before January 14, 1965, or be payable in annual installments for a period of from one to ten years as designated on each assessment roll, payable on or before the 30th day of September, annually, with 6% interest thereon. Failure to pay the annual installment renders the same delinquent and thereafter a 10% penalty is added and the said delinquent special assessment is certified to the County for collection with the Real Estate tax.
