Contractors,Inc., for demolition of Killoren house at 3713 Buchanan St. N.E., with starting time week of November 16th and completion in three days, at $475.00. Schroeder of the Crestview Home. Reverend Schroeder asked to be allowed to say a few words of appreciation and thank the Council and especially the Engineers for their cooperation during the building of the Crestview Home. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that the minutes of the last regular and special meetings be approved as presented in writing, and the reading be dispensed with. Roll Call - All Ayes. Bids were received from the following on watermain extension on 5th Street, 37th to 38th: Phelps-Drake Erwin Montgomery Petrowske & Ross Barbarossa & Sons Art Bolier Walbon Excavating Co. Horace Montgomery Motion by King seconded by Land, that these bids be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation and report back later at this meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Bids on Bituminous coated corrugated metal pipe for the Park Department ~were received from the following: Armco Metal Products $956.25 H.V. Johnston Culvert Co. 1,018.89 Northern Culvert Co. 1,004.40 Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that Armco Metal Products be awarded this bid on Pipe in the amount of $956.25. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held on alley paving between University and 4th Street, from 49th to 50th. The City Engineer gave an estimated cost of $2.00 per lineal foot for blacktop paving in this alley and he did not contemplate any problems. Motion by King seconded by Nawrocki, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with Bituminous paving of this alley during 1965 construction. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Hearing held on Concrete Curb installation in conjunction with the proposed County reconstruction at: 44th Ave., from Reservoir Blvd. to Arthur St., Arthur St., from 44th to 45th Ave., and 45th Ave., from Arthur St. to Stinson Blvd. Several residents from this area were present who had questions to ask regarding this project. County Engineer Lundheim was present and stated this work would start next summer and take about two months to complete. An estimated cost of $2.10 per lineal foot was ~iven as cost of curb to be paid by property owners. Motion by King seconded by Land, that the Mayor and City Manager be author- ized to enter into an agreement with Anoka County for the installation of Curb, Gutter and paving of above described area. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Land, that Robert L. Buckland, 1028 Gould Avenue, be appointed to fill the unexpired term of Harvey Rau on the Planning & ~oning Commission. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Orendorff seconded by King, that Tuesday, December 15th, 1964 be set as a special meeting for the purpose of holding Assessment Hearings on 1964 construction, to be held at 8 p.m. Roll Call - All Ayes. 311 Fir.st reading of Ordinance No.588, Being an ordinance establishing authority to Library Board to issue non-resident library use cards and setting the fee therefore. Motion by Nawrocki seconded bY Land, 'that Warren A. Armstrong be appointed ~s representative on the Arbitration Panel for arbitration with Local ~49. Roll Call - All Ayes. .Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that -the City Manager be authoriked 'to advertise for bids for Official Publications for 1965, to be opened at the next regular meeting, December-t4, 1964. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by-King seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids for Dog Catcher for 1965, to be-opened at the next regular meeting, December 14th, 1964. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion ~by Land seconded by King, 'that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids on Lot 1, Block 2, Auditor's Subdivision of Walton's Second Subdivision, to be opened at the next regular meeting, December 14, 1964. Roll Call - All Ayes. Resolution offered by Orendorff, seconded by King, The City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, does resolve; That the Uniform Building Code of-the Internatiinal Conference of Building Officials, 1964 Edition,. be and the same is hereby adopted as the building code to be en~or~ed in the City of Columbia Heights, except however, the fee schedule as set forth in the 1955 Edition of said Uniform Building Code shall continue to be used by said City. Resolution offered by Land seconded by King, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that WHEREAS, It is necessary to construct a trunk watermain extension in 5th Street N.E. between 37th and 38th Avenues N.E., and WHEREAS, Said construction must be installed by open cutting across Spur tracks owned by .the Soo Line Railroad. NOW, TITEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Engineer'be authorized to prepare an agreement with the Soo Line Railroad, and the Mayor and City Manager be authorized to consummate said agreement. Roll Call-All Ayes. Motion by K~ing seconded by Land, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids for a new Squad Car, and two Pickup Trucks, to be opened at the December 28th meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Land, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids on a New or Used 3/4 Ton 4-wheel drive Pickup Truck complete with Snow Plaw hanger and 7-foot blade, including hydraulic controls for the snow plow in the truck cab, Roll Call - All Ayes. to be opened at the December 28th meeting. Tabulated bids on watermain were returned and the following motion prevailed: Motion by Orendorff seconded by King, that Phelps-Drake be awarded the bid on Project 6403, Watermain in the amount of 87,109.20. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Attorney reported the Christmas Lighting in the business district'would be turned on Friday, November 27th. 312 Motion by King seconded by Land, that the following license apllications be granted upon payment of the proper fee: Roll Call - All Ayes.
