Invocation offered by Reverend Dick Hamlin of St. Timothy Lutheran Church. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that the minutes of the regular and special meetings be approved as presented in writing and the reading be dispensed with. Roll Call - All Ayes. D.W. Harstad Co. Andrew P. Gawel Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Land, that these bids be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation and report back later at this meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held on concrete alley paving between Central and VanBuren, from 44th to 45th. An estimated cost of $4.00 was given. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with this concrete alley paving m during 1964 construction period. Roll Call,- all Ayes. Roll Call-All Ayes. Hearing on Seal 'C6ating progr.am.for~'seVer~l Streets~ in Columbia Height's held at this time.. The manner in Which thisseal coating will:be done was explained and an estimated cost'of'27¢ per front foot on Street charges and.9¢ on AvenueCharges was given.. Thr~e petitions were received signed by residents Who are against~thi~ seal coating-on their Street, one from Polk St. 45-46, 9ne from TYler St. 45-46 and the other from Mill Street. There were also people in the audience who'stated they were for this Seal coating program in its entirety. Mayor Armstrong returned to the meeting at 9:45 p.m. ' Motion byOrendorff seconded by Armstrong, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with the seal coating program on streets as listedin the hearing, and check on 45th and Fillmore where'it was patched and also at north ~nd of Polk Street 39-40. Second reading of Ordinance No.584, Vacating the Public Alley S.W. of Stinson Blvd., south of'41st Avenue N.E., to the south lot line of Lot 19, Block 3, Silver Lake Addition. Roll Offered by Land seconded by Nawrocki. Roll Call - All Ayes. Second reading of Ordinance No.585, Rezoning the West ~ of Lots 1 & 2, Block 3, C.H.Acres, to C-1 Commercial. (4551 Univ. Petition'received'for concrete'alley paving'between Main and 2nd St.~ Motion by Na~rocki seconded by Landi that the-City Manager be authOrized to advertise a hearing to be held August 10th, on this alley Paving. Roll Call - All Ayes. Subdivision request from Mathaire Corp. on Parcel ~400 of-Lot-8, Aud.'Subl %135, to se~ tp D.X. Station the So.25' of the West 150' of this parcel. Motion by Land.seconded by Orendorff, that this request be granted and the special assessments against this 25 feet be placed against theparcel amounting to 9106.01. Roll Call - All Ayes. Mr. Floyd Applin the license holder at 547 - 40th Avenue has asked that his On and Off Sale and Restaurant licenses be cancelled. Motion by Orendorff seconded by Land, that these licenses be cancelled as per his request. Roll Call -All Ayes. The City Manager reported an inspection will be made on TUesday, July 28th, just after lunch, on the Dunkley Surfacing Co., with'Mr. Wick an inspector Srom Minneapolis City Offices. Mr. Murzyn now has the electric hedge clipper and will try this Qut at Jackson Pond on weeds. Mr. Barager will begin working for the engineering 'department August 10th. Mr. Donald Blood of the engineering department is resigning as of 8/4/64 and Mr. Leon Keeling as of 8/7/64. The City Manager and City Engineer have met with Mr. Bruce Corlett, waterworks engineer fo~ Minneapolis, and are working on methods of handling the water situation. A 1~ mat will be placed on 44th Avenue from Central to Main Street under State Aid Maintenance. Tabulated bids on re-construction of 322~40th Avenue were discussed. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that the bid of Eicher & Wichterman in the amount of $4,698.14 for re-modeling work at 322-40th AvBnue, new off sale ~2 Liquor Store, be accepted, and that the bid of $1,950.00 for Air Conditioning, be rejected. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Orendorff seconded by Land, that Chet Herringer be paid the sum of $580.81, for the City's share of platting costs of Apache Heights. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Attorney reported regarding the stabilization of banks of Circle Terrace, and stated he would have an answer by the next council meeting on this. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that the license applications be granted as follows: Thomas B. Benedict Pak Distr. Co. Milton Bottem Lester E. Eckhardt Donald Michnowski A.C. Roll Call-All Ayes. The City Manager reported the County was contacted regarding 40th Avenue center line striping and they will do it this year.
