Hearing held on Alley surfacing between Taylor & Fillmore from 46th to 47th. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with paving this alley with bituminous surfacing during the 1964 construction season. Roll Call - All Ayes. Resolution o~fered by Nawrocki seconded by King, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the City of Columbia Heights enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota, Department of Highways, for the following purposes, to-wit: To provide for payment by the City of Columbia Heights of part of the cost of construction by the State of storm sewers for Trunk Highway No.694 and No.47 drainage, which were oversized to provide additional drainage cap- acity. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk, be and they are hereby authorized to execute such agreement. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter was received from Leona Haman containing a petition with 169 names requesting reconsideration on the Bus service changes, on which a hearing had been held February 24th. Mayor Armstrong reported he had written a letter to Mr. Gerber of the Bus Company suggesting changes whereby 40th Avenue would get better service than proposed. The City Manager was asked to contact the Bus Company and try and work out an acceptable route. This will be reported on at the next meeting,March 24th. Subdivision request from Jacob E. Schneider, 1270 4~th Ave. N.E. to divide the E.~ of Lot 10, Block 2, Sheffield's Sub. into -the N.~ and S.½ (Ex.S. 30' for street). Motion by King seconded by Land, that this request be granted and the special assessments be spread against the benefitted portion of the property. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Discussion on cab licenses in Columbia Heights. Mel ~ater~an,5342 Oregon Ave. No. has recently purchased the Heights Cab Co. and is contemplating changes. Chet McCallum has applied for a Tax Cab license to operate 6 cabs in Colun~bia Heights, to be known as Hyland Cab Co. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that the license application of Hylander Cab Co. be referred to the City Manager for investigation and report back at the next regular meeting, March 23rd. The City Engin.eer reported a letter, had been-received f~om Paul G.. Velz, Hydraulics Engineer,-Department of. Highways, regarding 45th Avenue drain. as to what is being set up for further dev~lopement plans. Petitions--received both for and against, installation.of curb and.blacktop on 3rd Street between 42nd and 44th, with a ~otal of 26.6% favoring this_ project. Motion by, King seconded by Nawrocki, that.these two petitions be placed on file and the-circu-lator of~the petition for this project,.be ngtified as to appropriate action to have the matte~ reconsidered. :Roll.
