Invocation offered by Reverend Henderson of the Peoples Church. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Land, that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as presented in writing, and that we dispense with the reading of the minutes. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Nawr6cki seconde~ by.Orendorff,~ that the second reading of O~dinance No.574 be continued until the next meeting, February 10th. -'Roll Call - All. AYes. , The City Attorney was asked to get some further information as to how this ordinance~compares with some of our neighboring~communities. Resolution offered by Land seconded by Orendorff~ BE IT HEREBY REsoLVED by the City Council of..the City of_iColumbia Heights,.that T~ird Northwestern National Bankof Minneapolis as a designated depository Qf this cgrP0ration be and it is hereby requested, authorized and directed to honor checks, drafts or other orders for the payment of money drawn in this corporation's 'name, including 'those payable to. the.individual order of any person or persons whose.name or names appear thereon as signer or singers, thereof, when' bearing or Purporting,to bear the facsimile signature (s) of any of the following, with specimen (s) of facsimile signature (s);' of the Mayor, City Manager and City._Treasurer, and Third Northwestern National Bank of Minneapolis shall be entitled to honor and to. charge this-'corP0r- ation for such checks, -drafts,'or other orders, regardless of by whom or by o ~ s~ 1 gnature - · - . signatures resemble the facsimile specimens duly certified to or filed with Third Northwestern National Bank of Minneapolis by the Secretary or other officer of this corporation. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that expenses be allowed for three men to attend the Traffic Safety Workshop, February 18th, and also allow one man to attend the Juvenile Officers School, February 3,4,& 5th. Motion by Land seconded by Orendorff, that the On and Off sale Beer License of Floyd Applin for 547 - 4~th Avenue, be revoked as of January 31st,1964, and that the license fees be refunded in full, because Mr. Applin is not legally entitled to operate at this address and due to lack of counsel we ~p~roved~the license and now after looking into it p~perly we find he is still not entitled to operate. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Attorney ~eported on claims of Orlyn B.Jadinak, 4528 6th St. and Anthony Belinski, 4522 6th St. on damage to their property when alley was opened up. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Land, that a settlement be offered to Mr. Jadinak and Mr. Belinski, in the a~ount of $225.00 each for damages sus- tained as outlined in their January 4th, 1964 letter, to be paid upon signing of proper release drawn up by the City Attorney. Roll Call - All Ayes. A report was presented by the City Engineer on School Route Sidewalk, estimated costs, etc. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Land, that the City Attorney be authorized to take appropriate action against Northland Constructors,Inc., concerning the Library. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Attorney reported on the parking lot developement east of 40th and Central. Motion by Land Seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized to proceed with. tb~ ~rojec~ of parking lot developement, upon receipt of deeds to the~ ~ ~~ Block 5, Reservoir Hills. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. The City Attorney presented a report on his negotiations for the Beehler Property, Lots 1 - 4 and 21 - 24, Block 2, Sheffield Subdivision. Motion by Orendorff seconded by Nawrocki, that the City Manager and City Attorney be authorized to negotiate for the purchase of these lots for Park purposes, in the sum of $32.600.00, with the City to assume special assessments of $2,887.20, and the City Manager to prepare the necessary Emergency Debt Certificate for this purchase, and the City Treasurer be authorized to draw up the check this week. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City Attorney reported on the Kotvil Property, Lot 3, Block 1, also Lot 2, Block 1, Silver Lake Addition. It was decided to proceed with the condemnation of these properties.
