Resolution offered by Orendorff seconded by Land, '~THEREAS, the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights has at various times met for-the pul purpose of discussing the budget for 'the year 1964; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the following an~ounts of the budget be raised by taxation; N~, THEREFORE BE IT ILEREBY i~ESOLVED, that the County Auditor of Anoka County be and he is hereby instructed and authorized to levy the follow- ing amounts for the year 1964 for various City Funds, as follows: Court Roll Call - Ail Ayes. A letter was received from ~lerle Glader, Chief of Police requesting permission to attend an Instruction Course for Police Management at Highway Training Centerm New Brighton, December 9 thru 13th, 1963. Notion by Orendorff seconded by Lan~, -that this request be granted with necessary expenses allowed. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter was received fron~ Merle Glader, Police Chief, requesting permission for Monroe Dragsten to attend the instruction course for Sergeants, Intermediate Comraand Course to be held at Highway Training Center, New Brighton, November 18 thru 22, 1963. Motion by Land seconded by Nawrocki, that this request be granted with necessary expenses allowed. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter was received from :'ialter J. l'~.ood, 620 39th Avenue N.E. requesting installation of Sewer and ~i'ater to serve his property. Motion by Orendorff seconded by ~.[awrocki, that the City l'4anager be' authorized to advertise a hearing to be held November 12th, for install- ation of Sewer and %iater to serve that land bounded on the ,;'~'est by Jefferson, on the South by the alley north of 3.'3th ~venue, on the North bY .39th Avenue and on the East by a line parallel to and 400 feet east&'~ of ~jefferson, all in' ~Outlot A~' Second Subdivision of Block ."~F.~C.01umbia Heigl~ts Annex. ~ .~ .Roll Call - All~Ayes%..i-. Motion-by Orend0rff seconded by Land, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids'on Se~er and Water installation to serve that land as described in foregoing motion calling for a hearing, bids to be opened at the November 12th meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. The City'Manager reported the Police Department will hold an auCti6n Saturday, November 2nd, at 9 A.M. The City Engineer reported that a Bituminous Conference will be held at the University of Minnesota on November llth and -that he would like to ha~e one of his men attend. ~ ~.~ .Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that 'the City ~a~ager be authorized to allow one man from the eng~ineering department to attend this conference, with necessary expenses ~to be paid. ,Rqll-Cal!-All Ayes.
