Letter from NOrthern State Power Co. ~and the City of Minneapolis regarding utilities 'in this area. Motion by Land seconded by. King, -that this petitionbe denied at this time, as we are unsettled in our'water system location in this area and there is ~lso present existing power lines, and the interested parties will be notified when matters are cleared up. Roll Call-All .Ayes. Hearing held on'MuniCipal Parking Lot proposals and report made. Mr. Ralph Rustom presented a petition signed by property owners and tenants in the area of 40th and Central, to establish a Municipal parking lot program as presented August 22, 1963. Mr. Kvatheim reported on the possibility of' renting this parking lot from Mrs. Voss on a 5 year and a 5 year option least, with parking meter funds to be used for this purpose. Mr. Kvalheim was asked to check on this and report back later on this week. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that this hearing be continued until the next regular meeting, September 9,1963. Second reading of Ordinance No.566, Being an ordinance conveying unto the City of Fridley, that part of 44th Avenue extended west of the Columbia Hei Heights corporate limits at Main Street N.E. Offered by King seconded by Nawrocki. Roll Call - ~11 Ayes. Resolution offered by Nawrocki seconded Dy Land, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the City Treasurer be and she is hereby instructed to transfer from the Liquor Fund $500.00 to the Band Fund, and that there are sufficient moneys in said Liquor Fund to make such transfer. Roll Call - All Ayes. Subdivision request received from Russell Thorp to divide Lot 24, Block 1, Sheffield's Sub. into five 60 foot lots for single dwellings. Motion by King seconded by Land, that this request be granted upon payment of the outstanding special assessments of $794.41. Roll Call - All Ayes. Subdivision request from Vivian B. Ratliff to divide the No.98.S feet of the east 203.78 feet of Lot 5,Block 16,Aud. Sub. of '~alton's 2nd Sub. Motion by King seconded Dy Nawrocki, that this request be denied because it does not conform to the zoning ordinance, and that the matter be turned over to the City Manager for clarification with ~s. Ratliff. Roll Call - All Ayes. Subdivision request from Mrs. Ed. Sullivan on Parcel No.5400 in Section 25-30-24, as per preliminary plat presented.by Henry Korman. Motion by King seconded by Land, that this preliminary plat be approved incorporating the recommendations of the Planning & Zoning Commission of August 6, 1963. Roll Call - All Ayes. Subdivision request received from Emma Choudek and Earl F. Swanson, 1310 43rd Ave. N.E. to divide Lot 5,Block 3,Res. Hills as follows: West 50 ft.of the No.150 ft.of Lot 5,Block 3,Res. Hills. Lot 5,except the No.150 ft. and the East 60 ft. of the No.150 ft. of Lot 5. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that this request be granted upon payment of the outstanding special assessments of 8277.59. Roll Call-Ail Ayes. A letter was received from Ronald Johnson, Director of the Columbia Heights Women's Chorus, asking for support of a Community Chorus for Columbia Heights. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that this request be turned over to the City Attorney for investigation and report back at the next regular meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter was received from Merle Glader, Police Chief, asking for permission to send Officer Curtis Ramsdell to the Basic Police Science Course, to be held at the Highway Academy at New Brighton, September 9th through October 4th. Motion by King seconded by Land, that this request be granted with necessary expenses paid. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by King seconded by Land, that the request of the Park Department to send a man to the Shade Tree Maintenance Course, September 16 & 17, be granted with necessary fees paid. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids for Custodial Services for the Municipal Building and the Library, bids to be opened September 9, 1963. Motion by King seconded by. Land, that the request for a Special Use Permit be granted to Richard Hill, 4500 Tyler St.N.E., upon approval~ or'the Planning & Zoning Commission, and.upon payment of the proper fee. Roll.
