American Oil Company Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that these bids be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation and awarded later on at this meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Bids on Storm Sewer, Sanitary Sewer and Watermain installations were received from the following: Petrowske & Ross Sandstrom & Hafner Nodland Construction Co. Barbarossa & Sons Peter Lametti Motion by Nawrock~ seconded by Orendorff, that these bids be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation and report back at the next meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. Bids on Grading, Topsoiling and storm drains at Gauvitte, Mathaire and McKenna Parks were received from the following: Hartse Excavating Co. M.E. Kraft Excavating Co. Carl Bolander & Sons Carl H. Peterson Co. Motion by Orendorff seconded by McCline, that these bids be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation and report back later on at this meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. A Hearing was held on request for installation of Curb, Gutter and Blacktop Mat on Cleveland Street, 40th to 41st. Motion by Orendorff seconded by Nawrocki, that the City Manager be author- ized to proceed with this improvement to be done this year, if at all possible. Roll Call - All Ayes. A Hearing was held on installation of Curb & Gutter on 44th Avenue, East of Central to McLeod. Several residents from this area were present,~proposea anal% some others voiced were themselves for it. as being against this project as E~eess called at 9:55 p~m. Meeting called to order at 10:05 p~m.-. Motion'by Orendorff-seconded by.-NawrOcki, that'the City Manager be authorized tob~9~d with installation of Curb, Gutter and Blacktop Mat on 44th Avenue, according ~M~%%ea~%~~%~%~B, and that he be further authorized to obtain'the necessary easements, on 44th Avenue east of Central McLeod. Roll Call - All Hearing held on rescinding Farr Plumbing Co. license. Mr. Duane Fair 'was pre~ent, also Mr. Helwick our plumbing inspector and both sides were heard. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, 'that 'this matter be ta~led until thenext meeting and the suspension continue Until that time. Roll Call - All Ayes. First reading of Ordinance No.56~, Being. an 'O~din~nce amending House and Bedroom sizes. Resolution offered by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that.the City Treasurer be and she is hereby instructed to transfer~from the Water Fund as'Follows: 830,000.00 to the Liquor Fund ~ and that there are sufficient moneys in said water fund to make. such transfer. A letter was received from John Murzyn, Park Supt. requesting a meeting with the City council at 7 p.m. July 8th to discuss park problems. He also asked the council to call for bids for asphalting areas at Ostrander Park and behind the Field House. It was agreed to meet with him as requested. A letter was received from Dom Hebzynski, Health Inspector, tendering his resignation effective July 1, 1963. Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized to set a special meeting for Monday, July 1, 1963 at 7:30 p.m., for awarding of bids and any other items necessary. Roll Call-All AYe~ The matter of providing off-street parking at 1842 39th Avenue was dis- cussed. Motion by Orendorff seconded by Nawrocki, that the City Manager be author- ized to advertise a hearing for August 12th, on cost of installing an alley in back of 1842 39th Ave. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Orendorff seconded by Nawrocki, that the City Manager be authorized to pay George M. Hansen Company the sum of $7,235.00 for the audit, or include in our bills for the next meeting, July 8,1963. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. The City Attorney reported he will present something on Continuity of Government either the first or second meeting in July, 1963, and will also give this information to Walter Reinhart, Civil Defense Director. He also reported on information he had received on cost of meat inspection and license fee. The City Attorney stated he would like to be authorized to pay an additional $200.00 apiece to Lawrence Salvail and Raymond R. & Carol A. Baune, on the purchase of part of Lots 2 and 3, Block 2, Rearrangement of Block "C~', as their drain fields exist on this property. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that the City Attorney be authorized to pay the 8200.00 apiece additional to these people as recommended. Roll Call - All Ayes. July I, 1963 ~eeting called to order at 8 p.m. Roll Call: Armstrong, King, Nawrocki, Orendorff - present. McCline - absent. Award of bid on Storm Sewer, Sanitary Sewer and Watermain installations. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that Petrowske & Ross be'awarded this bid on Project 6301, at a total amount of $43,850.15, as per bid tabulation attached. Roll Call - All ·Ayes. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that the matter of the bids for regular and premium gasol'ine from local station, which was awarded to Emerson Mobil at the june 24th meeting, be referred to the City.Attorney for consideration andreport back at the next meeting. Roll Call-All Ayes. ~nsideration of resignation of Health Inspector. Mr. Hebzynski was present and this matter ~as discussed with him, but no deCision was reached. The City Manager said he would check with other communities as to the duties of their Health Inspector. The Electrical, Heating and Building Inspectors jobs were also discussed and the City Manager was asked to report July 8th on his investigations.
