Invocation offered by Reverend Dean Goetze of Calvary Covenant Church. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that the reading of the minutes of the last council meeting be dispensed with, and that they be accepted as presented in writing. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by McCline seconded by~King,~that these bids.on outdoor sign for Liquor Store be turned over.to, the City Manager for tabulatiQn and awarded later on at this meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes. 'one bid on sale of ~three bowling~alleys was received and this from Modern Bowling Supply, They stated~.they would remove these three alleys at no cost to the City, as their bid on these alleys, .Motion by Nawrocki seconded by_ Orendorff,~that this bid from Modern Bowling Supply, be rejected. Roll Call ~- All Ayes. Bids on Concrete construction for1963 were received from the following: Bolier Construction Co. O. Drevdahl & Sons Bart Carlone Victor Carlson & Sons Crown Sidewalk & Block Co. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by McCline, that these bids be turned over to the City Manager for tabulation and report back later at this meeting, or at the next ~f~Ckat meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes, Award ~f bid On Outdoor Sign for Liquor Store. Motion byMcCline seconded by King, that this. bid be awarded t~ Lawrence, Inc. for an Outdoor sign with 36" lettering, on 48"~Cabinet and .30' Height, at a total cost of 82,025.00 installed. Roll Call - All Ayes. Continued hearing held on Jackson street reconstruction betweeh The City Engineer reported.after conf~erring with owners along this street, that the recommendation was to use the existing~material as baseto re- build the street with a 5" crown, including a machine laid surface. Estimated cost would be $1.50 per lineal foot. Motion by'King seconded by Nawrocki, that.the City Manager be authorized to proceed with .re-construction of Jackson Street between 40th and 41st, as proposed and described by the City Engineer. Roll Call - All.Ayes.~ Hearing held on Concrete alley between Tyler & Polk frQm 42nd to 4~rd. The City Engineer reported if this alley was paved~with concrete would have to be cut down to drain properly. The interested property owners present were asked.to.go with Mr. Brown to his~office where the profiles of this alley could be,viewed, and this hearing would betaken up ~later on at this meeting. Offered by King seconded by McCline.~ Roll Call - All Ayes. · Motion by MoCline Seconde Oren or f, that the City'Manager authorized to advertise for Bids for Gasoline and Diesel Fuel, to be opened at the next meeting, June 24th. Roll Call -All Ayes. 160 Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for Bids for Sanitary Sewer, Watermain and Storm Sewer install- altions, to be opened at the regular meeting, June 24th, 1963. Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Mr. King reported that he felt the estimated price of 875.00 for the heavy duty welding equipment owned by Mrs. Porter was a good price for such equip- ment. Motion by King seconded by Nawrocki, that the City Manager be authorized to purchase the Welding equipment, Taps, Drills and Timing Light, from Mrs. Porter for 875.00. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Orendorff seconded by McCline, that resignation of Paul Trench from Traffic Commission be accepted, and rescind the appointment of Mr. Maurice Arnold as made at the May 27th meeting, as it was made in error, and that Mr. Arnold be appointed to the one year unexpired portion of Mr. Trench's term as business representative, that Mr. Donald Burton be re-appointed for a four year term as the school representative, and that we re-affirm the appointment of Mr. Davitt, representative at large, for a four year term as of last year. Roll Call - All Ayes. Subdivision request received from Carl Sorenson to divide Lot 8, Block 4, Columbia Heights Acres, into two lots 68.47 x 100, and one lot 136.64x173. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that this request be tabled until the next regular meeting for further clarification. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Orendorff seconded by King, that the petition for concrete alley between Tyler & Polk from 42nd to 43rd be denied, with the suggestion that an attempt be made to present a petition signed by over 50% of the home owners. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Orendorff seconded by McCline, that we authorize the City Engineer and all councilmen, or elected councilmen, to attend the League Cpnvention at Mankato June 12,13,14, with expenses paid. Roll Call - All Ayes. A petition was received for Curb, Gutter and Asphalt Mat on Cleveland between 40th & 41st. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise a hearing to be held June 24th for this improvement. Roll call - All Ayes. The City Manager reported Farr Plumbing Co. has not lived up to the plumbing code and recommends that their license be revoked. Several violations have been reported by our plumbing inspector. Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the plumbing license of Farr Plumbing Co. be revoked. Roll Call: McCline, King - Aye. Armstrong, Orendorff, Nawrocki - Naye. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that the license of Farr Plumbing Co. be suspended pending a hearing to be set for the June 24th meeting, to consider revocation of license and that Farr Plumbing Co. be n~tified of this action. Roll Call,- All Ayes. The City Attorney reported regarding his correspondense with Wyman Smith, Attorney for Mr. Bollinger, on 37th Avenue, with respect to the rezoning of this property. .Motion by King sclc°nded by Orendqrff, 'that the following IiCense applications be granted upon approval of the respective inspectors and ~upon payment of the proper fees: roll call -.All Ayes.
