Roll Call - Ail Ayes. Hearing held on platting of 42~ Avenue east of Central. ~. %$atson explained the plans contemplated to open up this area and make Duilding lots available, also cost estimates were given. Several property owners from this area were present and gave their views. Motion by King seconded by 14cCline, that this project for the consider- ation of platting ~2~ Avenue be abandoned for the present and the Petition De placed on file. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held on alley surfacing between 7th Street & Washington, from 44th to 45tn. The majority were in favor of concrete paving. ~tion by ~ing seconded by ~lcCline, that the City ~ianager be authorized to proceed with installation of concrete paving of alley Detween 7-Washing- ton, 44tn to 45th for 19~3 construction season. Roll Call - All Ayes. Hearing held for alley surfacing Detween %~ler & Polk from 4~th to 47th. Motion Dy Nawrocki seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorize( to proceed with alley blacktop pavingDetween Tyler-Polk, 4~ to 47,fpr 1963. Roll Call -.All Ayes. Hearing held on alley surfacing between 4th & 5th from 40th to 41st. The City Engineer recommended t~at t~is alley should be paved wit~ con- crete as the grade was too flat to get a satisfactory job with blacktop. ~otion Dy ~4cCline seconded Dy King, that the request for blacktop in this alley be denied and the people be advised to petition for concrete paving if it is their desire to have this alley paved. Motion by King seconded by ~lcClinc, that the City ~;~anager be authorized to proceed with re-construction of ~.lst Avenue between 5th & 6th; 7th & Washington; jefferson & i'4onroe; a~.so Madiso~ Street ~_0th to ~.lst, during the 19~3 construction season. Hearing ~as held on blacktop re-surfacinc3 on Jackson Street 40th to 41st. Resol~tion offered by Orendorff seconded by McCline, BE iT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia t{eights, that pursuant to Legislat6re Bill i{.F.!443 and S.F.1366, this council does hereby request that participation of the City of Colu~nbia Heights in the North Suburban Hospital Board be terminated forthwith. BE IT FURTIqER ]~ESOLVED, that the said City Council respectfully requests approval of the North Suburban Hospital board of this ren~oval request. Roll Call - All Ayes. Resolution offered by McCline seconded by Orendorff, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that %'71LEREAS, there Zs a bill before the Minnesota Legislature known and described as ~'Modifications to Bottle Club Law, Senate File 7L5, House File 1046~' and ~K~REAS, Said law sets forth the most desirable means of retaining proper control on bottle club licensing at the present time by requiring approval by the local governing body before consideration by the liquor control commissioner of license applications; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights do hereby endorse said bill as a desirable law and recommend to our legislators their support in its passage. Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the license application for 7 rides to be operated at Zayre's parking lot May 27 thru June 1, be granted, with the stipulation they be placed along Central Avenue between 43rd & 44th and not to extend beyond the drive entry of 43rd and 44th, and closing time to be 10 p.m., upon payment of the proper fees.
