LU~dheim,' County Engineer were present and explained th~ ~ork -that Woul-d be done tp make this a 44 foot paved stree~ with new curb and gutter, and including complete re-construction of existing storm drains in this area, The estimated cost of this project is 885,000, of which the County would pay $65,000. There were people present both for and against this pro' and it was decided to table this hearing until later at this meeting to give them an opportunity to go with the Engineer to his office and this matter further. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be authorized to advertise for bids for Liquor Store Fixtures, to be opened on March 25th, 1963. Roll Call - All Ayes. A Petition was received from residents in the vicinity of 48th and Madison Street, for the enforcement of ordinance on Dog control. The City Manager was directed to write the Dog Cather and ask for a statement from him as to what is being done. A request was received from Leslie F. Kotval, 4205 Stinson Blvd., asking that Stinson Blvd. between 43rd and45th be opened in the fall of 1963. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by McCline, that this request be denied as the City is negotiating for the purchase of Lot 3, Block 1,Silver Lake Addition, owned by Mr. Kotval. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter was received from Local ~49 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, requesting that an adjustment panel be established as a s~isfactory agreement has not been reached. Motion by McCline seconded by King, that Mr. Nawrocki, represent the Council in the arbitration proceedings with Local ~49. Roll Cal ResolUtion offered by King seconded by Orendorff, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that: WHEREAS, the City of Columbia Heights constructed Jefferson Street from 45th Avenue to 51st Avenue, a designated Municipal State Aid Street, according to the approved plans and specifications, and; WHEREAS, the City of Columbia Heights has sufficient funds in its avail- able allotment to cover the cost of the contract amount, and; WHEREAS, the City does not have sufficient funds in its general Fund to pay for a project on a Municipal State Aid System. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED; that the City of Columbia Heights, in accordance with the Rules and Regulations, hereby request the Commissioner of Highways to release the sum of $18,413.17 from our current construction account for use on State Aid Project No.13-107-02. This request is made to relieve the hardship condition existing in the City's General Fund. Roll Call - All Ayes.
