Continued hearing held on opening of California Street between 37th & 39th.
Representatives from Northern Pacific were presented and stated they were
opposed to this street opening at the present time as it would not fit in
with their plans for this area if the merger with other railroads is
completed.
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by McCline, that this hearing ~n opening of
California St. 37 to 39, be continued until the May 27th meeting.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that a hearing be set for May 27th
on installation of sewer and water on California Street between 37th &
39th. Roll Call - King, McCline, Orendorff: Aye. Nawrocki and Armstrong:
Naye.
Hearing held on Curb,Gutter and Surfacing on Washington between 51st & 53rd,
and Sullivan Drive from 7th to Washington. The City Engineer recommended
that surfacing be held up until a storm drain had been installed, but
would recommend curb & gutter this year.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that this ~earing be continued until
February llth and that those additional property owners that appear
necessary be notified. Roll Call - All Ayes. ~
Mr. Watson suggested we submit a proposal to Minneapolis for the use of
land in the area of 46th & Reservoir Blvd, to be used as a temporary play-
ground, and that he had talked to Mr. Corlett regarding this.
¥~ion by Nawrocki seconded by McClin~ that the City Attorney be instructed
to draw up a resolution for the use of Minneapolis Reservoir property in
the area of 46th and Reservoir. Roll Call- All Ayes.
Motion by McCline seconded by Nawrocki, that check No.172 in the amount
of $24.52 be a replacement of check No.2989, which was lost. Roll
call - All Ayes.
A report was received from the Police Dept. on four-year juvenile study.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the collateral in the form of-
Treasury Bills posted .~l~h~ Fidelity State Bank and Third Northwestern
Bank, in the amount of~t~ total investments at said banks, be accepted

The City Attorney reported Park Construction has started suit against us for
$2500.00 in payment of work on Jackson Pond.
The City Engineer suggested we' hold a hearing on installation of sidewalk
and curb and replacement, as necessary, on 40th Avenue between Central
Avenue and Reservoir Blvd.', as requested by the County 'Engineer, as this
is part of a street widening project. ~' ''~ ·
