Special Meeting
December 20, 1962
~!eeting called to order at 7:10 p.m. Roll Call: Armstrong, McCline,
Orendorff, Nawrocki.- present. King - absent.
Motion by Orendorff seconded by McCline, that the ~tinutes of the last
regular and special meetings bw approved as presented and the reading
of these minutes be dispensed with. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Award of bid on construction of new municipal off-sale Liquor Store:
Motion by McCline seconded by Nawrocki, that the award of bid be made
to E.I{.Putnam Co. at a cost of $40,363.17, which includes acceptance
of Alternate No.1. as per tabulation-Roll Call - All Ayes.

Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that the i~iayor and City
Manager be authorized to enter into a contract with E.H. Putnam Co.
as per their bid for the construction of the new ~nicipal Off-sale
Liquor Store. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by hcCline, that a letter of appreciation
be written to Royalton Heating & Sheet Metal Co. thanking them for the
donation of the gas furnace for the new warming house at 40th & Polk,
and also a letter to the Kiwanis Club for their contribution in paying
for the carpenter work on this warming house in Ostrander Park.

by Super Valu for two Pinball and one Gun Machine, be denied and that
a letter of exp!antion be written to them. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
Second reading Ordinance No.554, rezoning to C-2, Lots 11,12,13,14,20
21, Revised Aud. Sub. No.15. Offered by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
First reading Ordinance No.555, Sale of 7' easement to State of Minnesota,
at 40th & University.
Resolution offered by Orendorff seconded by McCline, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED
by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the City
Treasurer be and she is hereby instructed to transfer from the Liquor
R~m~ fund as follows: $3,800.00 to the P.E.R.A. Fund
4,375.00 to the Street Fund
15,333.62 to the Fire Fund
and that there are sufficient moneys in said liquor fund to,make such
transfer.
Resolution offered by McCline seconded by Orendorff, THE CiTY OF Columbia
Heights City Council, i{E. ItEBY RESOLVES, that the Columbia Heights State Bank,
the Fidelity State Bank, the Third Northwestern National Bank, and the
Chicago-Lake State Bank, be hereby designated as the depositories for ~p
monies of the City of Columbia Heights for a period of one year beginning
the first day of January, 1963, and the Treasurer of this City is hereby
directed to deposit moneys of this City in said Banks and the Columbia
Heights State Bank, the Chicago-Lake State Bank, the Fidelity State Bank,
and the Third Northwestern National Bank are hereby authorized and dir-
ected to honor and pay any checks or orders, when signed by the City
Treasurer, for the withdrawal or transfer of funds on deposit in said
banks in whatever form.

50X205'. There~is a~problem-of'spare footage and lot width for~-dou~i~
ho~es and he was asked to se~ if this property could~be divided to-"allow
f°~'larger lots and r~po~ bae~ at the next meeting, December 27th.
