Consideration of Bids on Bookkeeping Machine for Administrative Office. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that this bid be awarded to ~Burroughs .Corporation in the amount of $6,329.60 for a 1Fl500. Roll Call - All .Ayes. Hearing~held'on alley surfacing between 5-6 from 48-49. There is a drainage problem in this alley and a storm drain should be installed before surfacing. '. Motion bY King seconded.by McCline, that the Cit~.Manager be authorized to proceed with the paving of this alley and necessary storm sewer and other drainage installation.during 1,963.,construction season. Roll.Call - All Ayes. - A Haaring was held o~ the MuniciPal Building parking lo~'revisions~ The Mayor gave a resume of previous actions regarding this piece of .~,property adjacent to the City Park on Mill Street, which is being~ used for'parking. The ottem proPerty~has now been blacktopped and .9ill be used for employee pa~king and the parking~space adjacent to ~he pa~k will be Used for~ overflow parking. This parking lot has also been blacktopped and the posts removed, also treesihave been planted . 'The residents living on Mill Street that were present agreed that the parking area looks better, but would like the yellow striping.removed, and it was agreed to do this as soon as·possible. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that the Railroad-and Warehouse Commission be Petitioned by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, to hold a hearing for the extension of Bus service by the Twin City RaPid Transit Co. to the area of 49th and Central Ave. N.E. ' Roll Call - All Ayes. Subdivision request from C.H. Miller for division of Lot ~, Block 2, Mathaire, as follows: Lot 19, ex. that pa~t ly. SE'ly of a line drawn ~'ly from the SE corner of Lot 19,to a point in the E.line of said .. Lot 19,distant 92.0' S.of NE corner thereof as measured along the E. line of said Lot 19. This exception of Lot 19 wil~ stay with C.H. Miller who owns Lot 18 and wants it for addition to his lot. This motion 1Q'~t for the lack of a second. 102 MOtion by Orendorff seconded by King, that we approve the replat of X~ preliminary Temple Terrace Plat 4, into 13 lots 73.S5' with one lot in the north end 73.37', Special~ assessments being equally subdivided into 13 lots based on front footage. Mr. ~rzyn Supt. of Parks has requested permission to spend up to $750.00 for a warming house at 40th & Polk St. Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the request for a warming house at a cost of $750.00, be granted. Roll Call - All Ayes. A letter was received from George L. Walquist stating he owned several lots on California St. between 37th and 39th, they he was desirous of having this street opened in the near future. Motion by King seconded by Nawrocki, that this request of George Walquist be tabled until the next meeting, and the City Manager be requested to contact the City of Fridley to determine whether there can be some uniform developement north of 40th Ave. Roll Call -~11 Ayes. A letter was received from Mr. Cottrell, Police Chief, requesting author- ization for Glader and Cleland to attend the Intermediate Command Course at the Highway Department-Civil Defense Training Center December 3 thru 7, with expenses paid. Motion by McCline seconded by King, that this request be granted as requested. Roll Call - All Ayes. Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that a hearing be set for the next regular meeting to determine whether or not the conditions for a Special Use permit at 4000 Washington St.N.E. have been met.
