Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that the minutes of the last regular
and two special meetings be approved as presented and that the reading
be dispensed with. Roll Call - All Ayes.

for Two Truck Bodies and Hbists in the 'amount of.82,570.00,"as"per

Motion.by NaWrocki seconded by McCline, that these bids'be turned~over

A Hearing was held on storm drain installation in alley between 7th and
WaShington from-45th to-46th. '
Motion by King seconded by Nawrocki, that the~ City~Mahager be a~thorized
to proCeed, with installation of a storm drain in this alley~as'-soon as
possible, work to be done.by our ~ity crew. Roll Call - All Ayes.

Motion by'McCline saconded by King,' that the City Manager be authorized
to proceed with the installation of these improvements during 1963
construction season. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.

Motion by Nawrocki sec0nded by ~cCline, ~that the' City Manager be-~
authorized to-proceed with 'installation of conurete alley f0r 1963

A request was received from Raymond Cech and Franklin Bradshaw, to divide
the South 40'~ of Lot 3, Block 5 Rearrangement of Block A, (except the North
138'). of the No. 178' '
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, that this request be granted
and that this 40 feet be further subdivided into the South 20 feet and
North 20 feet, with the provision that the South 20 feet be purchased by
the owner of the property to the south, also upon payment of outstanding
special assessments of $103.12. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Authorization was asked for two men from the engineering department to be
allowed to attend a surveying course offered by the Minnesota Highway
Department, with expenses paid.
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that this request be granted.

A request was received from Father Hermes of the Church of the
Immaculate Conception, for a Bingo Permit for the year 1963.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that this request for a Bingo Permit
be granted. Roll Call - Ail Ayes.
An appeal was made from the Planning & Zoning Commission denial of an
apartment permit for 4039 Madison St.N.E.~
Resolution offered by King seconded by McCline, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED
by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that a certificate
of occupancy be issued to Mrs. Calla Muriel Oden, on Lot 27, Block 57,
Columbia Heights Annex, which permit will be effective during her
ownership to use the said building as a duplex.
BE IT FURTHER directed that a copy of this Resolution be filed with the
Register of Deeds in the County of Anoka, Anoka, Minnesota. Roll Call -
All Ayes.
Rand Realty request consideration of a re-plat of Temple Terrace into
14 lots instead of 16, each lot to be 68.6' in width, and a lot area
waiver to build double bungalows.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that this request be denied.
Roll Call - Armstrong, King, McCline: Aye. Nawrocki & Orendorff - Naye.
The Police Department requests permission to purchase a Breathalyzer at
a cost of $645.00, and a Case of Breath Test Kits at a cost of $36.00.
Motion by ~cCline seconded by Nawrocki, that the City Manager be
authorized to purchase this equipment not to exceed $681.00, wit~ the
approval of this machine by the Municipal Judge. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A petition was received for alley surfacing between 5th & 6th Streets,
from 48th to 49th.
Motion by King seconded by McC!ine, that the City Manager be authorized
to advertise a hearing on this improvement, to be held at the November
26th meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A request was received from Florence Tenney, 647 37th Ave. N.E. to purchase
city owned Lot 25, Block 88 (640 3~th Ave.) and move her house to this
lot, so that she can dispose of her property on 37th Avenue.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that this request be denied.

Resolution offered by Nawrocki seconded by Orendorff, BE IT HEREBY RE-
SOLVED by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the
City Treasurer be and she is hereby instructed to fransfer from the
Liquor Fund as follows: $5,741.41 to the Fire Fund, and that there
are sufficient moneys in said Liquor Fund to make such transfer.

John Pi BergStedt for the design bf the fixtures and eqUipment for the-
new Liquor Store at 52nd and University. Roll Call - All Ayes.
