and stated that the petitioner understood that they would have to pay

Motion by King seconded by McCline, that this request of Andrew P. Gawel
be approved for division into 4 Lots as in survey attached to subdivision

Request from B & M Realty for permission to install utilities in
Parkview Terrace.
Motion by Nawrocki, seconded by King, that this request be granted, subject
to the filing of the Plat, also subject to approval of the City Engineer
and their inspection, and that the Johnson Street sewer and'Water be ex-
tended to serve all of Johnson Street. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Request by Lester H. Hanson to subdivide the North 10'of the South 20'
of Lot 56, Block 5, Walton's 1st Sub of Res. Hills from Lot 56 (Ex.S.10'k.
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that this request be granted
and that all assessments outstanding against Lot 56, except the So.10',
Block 5, Walton;s 1st Sub. of Res. Hills, ~~ amounting to $910.88.

Mr. Hemak, 4401 Quincy St. requests permit to use garage for TV & Radio

Motion by King seconded by McCline, that this request be denied and that
a recommendation be made to bring this before the Planning & Zoning

The Bids on Two new Trucks received earlier in the meeting have been
tabulated and the following award made:
Motion by Orendorff seconded by McCline, that the Bid of Midway Ford Co.
be accepted at a net c~st of $8,67S.00 with trade-in of two old Trucks,
as per tabulation attached. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter was received from John Murzyn, Park Supt. recommending the
purchase of the following property: Lots 2 & 3,Block 1,Silver Lake Addition;
South half of Lot 14,Block 2,Rearg't. of Block c, and Easterly 165.08 ft.
of Lot 8 (Ex.N. 138.82') Block 2,Rearg't. of Block C.
Motion by King seconded by Nawrocki, that the City Attorney and City
Manager be authorized to negotiate for the purchase of this land as
recommended by the Park Supt. and make a report at the next council
meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter was received from Wilton Svensk, 3900 Hayes St. asking for a
refund on special assessments on his property as he was of the opinion
he had been overcharged. This will be taken up at the next
assessment hearing.
A letter was received from Rand Realty a~king to rearrange Temple Terrace
Plat ~4, which extends from Sullivan Drive to 53rd Ave. on Washington,
by decreasing the Lots from 16 to 15.

Resolution offered by McCline seconded by King, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by
the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the County Auditor
be, and he is hereby directed to levy the delinquent special assessments
on the properties in the City of Columbia Heights as submitted on the
duplicate statement form with the amount bo be levied indicated oposite
the stamp ~'Certified to County Auditor~.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the foregoing amounts shall be included in
the individual real estate tax statements for the current year and ident-
ified thereon as special assessments.
Said levies shall be enforced and collected in the amnner provided for the
enforcement and collection of state and county taxes under and in accordance
with the provisions of the general laws of the State. All Assessments with
penalties and interest as indicated thereon paid to the County Treasurer
shall belong to the City of Columbia Heights and shall be turned over to the
City treasurer in the manner provided by the City Charter and by-law.
The City of Columbia Heights shall accept payments on these levies until
the end of the calender year. Upon receipt of said payments the County
will be notified to remove this levy from the tax rolls. Roll Call-All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Orendorff seconded by Nawrocki, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED
by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights that the City Treasurer
be and she is hereby instructed to transfer from the liquor fund as follows:
$6,228.74 tothe Fire Fund and that there are sufficient moneys in said
Liquor Fund to make such transfer. Roll Call - All Ayes.
The City Attorney reported he had talked to the Mayor of Hilltop Village
regarding Monroe Street 45 to 46, and that he would see him again and
try to work something out.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the Mayor and City Manager be
authorized to enter into an agreement with the Village of Hilltop for
Curb, Gutter and Blacktop surfacing of Monroe Street between 46~ and
49th. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that following license application
be granted upon payment of proper fee: Como Specialty Co., 1608 Como Ave.,
St. Paul- Heating license. Roll Call - All Ayes.
