Hearin~ held on Alley platting-and improvement between 7th and WaShington
from 43rd to 44th. ~ A large group of residents from this area were present
and only those living at the 43rd Avenue end were interested'in getting.-
access to their property. A sketch of this area was projected by 'the
Engineer, also the grades, of this block were shown.~. . ..
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the. request for platting and
improvement of.this alley be denied, and that the Engineering Department
work with the residents that need this roadway to their garages.~.Roll

.The City..Attorney reported regarding the small strip of'land in'the
street right-of-way of 44thAVenue west.of Main Street in Fridley.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Attorney be authorized
to draw up. the necessary document deeding.that portion of 44th AVenue west
of Main Street in the. City of Fridley, to .FridleY..'Roll Call-Ail Ayes.
A request was received from Emil Karig~r to subdivide-'-Lot 5, Block.. 10,~
Aud. Sub.of W.S.A. 3rd into two parcels as-per-survey, leaving the west
149 feet.
.Motion by McCline seconded by King, that this request be granted-with
-payment of trunk sewer assessment of $164.73 paid prior tosubdivision,
-with the understanding that the balance of assessments to be ~divided
against property as necessary. Roll Call - A~i Ayes.
Discussion on storm sewers contemplated for the SUllivan Lake area.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized
to have R.D. Thomas & Associates prepare necessary drainage report of
overflow from Sullivan Lake, in conjunction with Fridley and the Minnesota
Highway Department. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Petition received for Curb, Gutter and Blacktop on Buchanan Street between
37th and 39th.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be authorized
to advertise a hearing for November 12th on this improvement. Roll Call -
All Ayes.
Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized
to forward the claims received from Leo Glynn and %~illiam J. Stangler to
the Insurance Company for investigation. Roll Cai1 - All Ayes.
Petition received for paving of alley between Jefferson and Madison, from
41st to 42nd.

to advertise a hearing on this alley surfacing to be held November 12th.

Resolution offered by King seconded by McCline, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED ·
by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the water rate
for Columbia Heights,residents be set at $3.00 per quarter for the first
600 cubic feet or less, and 32¢ per hundred cubic feet additional water
used, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the water rate for users outside
of the City of Columbia Heights be set at $3.30 per quarter for the first
600 cubic feet or less, and 38¢ per hundred cubic feet for additional water
used. Said rates to be effective October 1, 1962. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Resolution offered by Orendorff seconded by McCline, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED
by the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the City Treasure
be and she is hereby instructed to transfer from the Liquor Fund as follows
$1,212.85 to the Fire Fund, and that there are sufficient moneys in said
Liquor Fund to,make such transfer. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Consideration of an architect for new liquor store to be built at 52nd
and University was discussed, and it was decided to check into this
further.
