Invocation offered by Father Moss of Immaculate Conception Church. Motion by Orendorff seconded by King, that the minutes of the last meeting be accepted as presented in writing and the reading of the minutes be dispensed with. Roll Call - All Ayes. Holsten to use four building sites at the cul-de-sac on the newly platted Ulysses Street for Duplexes and double bungalows. Motion by King seconded by Nawrocki, that this request cannot be granted until the subdivision is granted. Roll Call - All Ayes. A request was received from Ray Ekberg of Dominic Realtors for the re- zoning of Lot 24, Block 1, Sheffie~d's Subdivision, to General Multiple classification. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that this request be referred to the Planning & Zoning Commission. Roll Call - All Ayes. A request was made for the Building Inspector to attend the Midwest Conference of Building Officials in Chicago, Ill. September 16-19. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that this request be denied. Roll Call - All Ayes. A Course will be held at the University of Minnesota on Shade Tree care and Maintenance, on September 19 and 20, at the St. Paul Campus. Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be authorized to send one man from the Park Department and one from the Street Depart- ment to'attend this course. Roll Call - All Ayes. Mr. Duane Albro, Civil Defense Director requests permission for ~alter Reinhard to attend the llth Annual Conference of the U.S. Civil Defense .~.C~uncil at Knoxville, Tenn. October 15-19, 1962. Motion by Orendorff seconded by McCline, that this request be denied. Roll Call - ~11 Ayes. First reading of Ordinance No.549, An Ordinance providing for the issuance of $400,000.00 of Bonds for creating and maintaining the City's Permanent ~nprovement revolving fund. First reading of Ordinance No.550, an Ordinance rezoning to R-2 Lots 1 thru 9, Lots 28 thru 31, Block 2, Hilltop Second Unit. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager and Mayor be authorized to enter into an agreement with John Bergstedt, to draw up plans for a new liquor store. Roll Call - All Ayes. Reports were made on progress of the following projects: The condition of 44th Avenue east of Central was discussed and the City Engineer reported there is still a watermain to be laid in 44th Avenue, but that this street is being graded every day and also has been oiled. The alley between Central & Tyler, 45th to 46th is to be surfacted this year, but a N.W. Bell Tel. Co. pole still has to be moved from the alley right-of-way. Mr. McCline reported another meetinF will be held between Minnesota Highway Department, Fridley amd Columbia Heights regarding the Storm Sewer project. Discussion on Walkway that will be made on 49th Avenue to new Schools from west line of W.Upland Crest. Also discussion on 40 foot width street on Monroe from 46~ to 49th.
