Motion by McCline seconded by King, that these bids be turned over to
the City Manager and awarded later in the meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Award of installation of Generator Bid. The City Manager recommends
a~c~ptan~e of low bid from Gopher Electric Co.
Mo~on Dy Orendorff seconded by King, that Gopher Electric Co. be
awarded the bid on installation of Generator, at a cost of $3.550.00.

Hearing held'on CUrb, Gutter .and surfacing of Monroe,'46½ to 49th.'
Motion by King seconded by Nawrocki, that the Mayor'and ~CitY Manager
be authorized to enter into an agreement with Hilltop Village for the
construction of Curb~Gutter and Surfacing on Monroe Street between
--46½ and 49th,~or any part thereof, and that the agreement should contain
that both municipalities share t~e cost equal and that the Street he'so con-
stz%%cted that there is equal participation as far as rightTof-way. Roll

Hea~ing held on Curb; Gu~er and'surfacing on Hill Street~betWeen
north line of'NorthUpland Crest and connect to Pennine Pass in
Innsbruck AddStion.
Motion by McCline seconded~byBling, that the City Manager be'authorized

The City Attorney reported he had discussed this with the Hilltop Village
Attorney and one of their councilmen, but no decision had been reached.

Engineer attempt to Workout an acceptable proposal with the' Village
of Hilltop on'this street. Roll Call - All Ayes.~ .~,
~Hearing held~-on alley Surfacing south of ~40th~Avenue between F~ilt
'-Street and aefferson. Park~Property is along one side of ~his alley and
this is also a fire route. This alley-is~wider than a normal alley but
the residents along this alley will pay on the basis bfa regdlar 14
foot 'alley.~ ..... ~,
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized
to proceed with this alley surfacing. Roil'Call - All Ayes.

Discussion on request to call for'bids on'AcCounting machine for City
Clerk & Treasurer's office.

Motion by McCline seconded by'King, that'the City Manager be authorized
to call for bids for ~an accounting machine. Roll Call -Ayes: King &

'Requests by Park' superintendent to pave Basketball.Court,' etc. ~'
Motion~by'King.seconded by Nawrocki, that Mr. Murzyn be authorized to
spend not more~than ~780.00 for blacktopping basketball court'. Roll

Mr. Murzyn has requested topographical~ maps'fo~ McKenna Park~ and
G~uvitt~ Park~ and the City Engineer reported these would probably
De ready in ~wo weeks! as his department was working on them now.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be authorized
to hire Mr. Chas. E. Doell and Mr. Corwine to prepare plans for Parks
and a wading pool. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by McCline seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authoriz
to proceed with curb installation from Mill Street around Field House
Parking Lot. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Request from B & M Inc. for subdivision of Lot 7, Block 1, Res. Hills.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that this request be laid over to
the next regular meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Request from Dick Gregor for subdivision of E½ of E½ of Lot 44, and Lot 43
except E 64'. Sheffield Acres into two equal building sites.
Motion by Orendorff seconded by McCline, that this request be approved
as presented. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that the request of Henry Longton,
Hilltop Village, for private sewer connection to Lots 16 & 17, and that
part of Lots 14 & 15, Block 1, Valley View Addition not taken by Highway
Department right-of-way, be granted upon payment of proper fees. Roll
Call - All Ayes.
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized
,~to pay the fees for Arc Welding Course for Robert A. Reimann, in the
amount of $27.50. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter was received from W.E. Cottrell, Police Chief, requesting per-
mission for Officer LeRoy Skog to attend the Basic Police Science ~ourse
September 10th thru October 5th, to be held at the Highway Academy at
New Brighton.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that this request be granded.
Roll Call - All Ayes.
The City Engineer reported regarding a walkway on 49th Avenue to the
Highland Elementary and Senior High Schools from west line of W.Upland
Crest.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized
to proceed with gravel walkway on north side of 49th, with cross walks
to south side, and that general revenue funds be used for this walkway
and necessary maintenance required. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Motion by King seconded by Nawrocki, that the attached list of applications
for Election Judges as submitted be approved, and that shortages be
filled in, for the forthcoming election. Roll Call - All Ayes.
The City Manager reported the Planning & Zoning Commission had approved
the request to move ~The Broasterm in on Central between the DX Station
on 44th and the Auto Wash, provided they erect a privacy fence along the
east property line where the new street will come through and the entire
parking area and driveway areas be hard surfaced, before the new restaurant
is opened. The builder indicated he woul~ provide a dinner room meeting
area in basement level for civic organizations.
A report was made on tabulation of bids on stuccoing Field House.
Motion by King seconded by McCline, that the bid be awarded to Joe
Nelson Stucco Co. in the amount of $800.00. Roll Call - All Ayes.

The council recommended checking the~water with State Health Department
and find out from Mr~ Doell what he_thinks_of this. ·- -.,...
The~City Attorhey reported regarding several items and asked for authority~
