at this meeting when Mr. George Brown will be present.
O~ening of bid on Generator Plant for standby power for Municipal Bldg.
Bid received from Minnesota Onan Corporation for Generator in
various sizes and accessories.
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that this bid be turned over to
the City Manager for tabulation and report back at the next regular
meeting. Roll call - All Ayes.
Hearing held on Street opening and utilities on 45~ Avenue east of
Fillmore. Several interested property owners were present.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized to t
proceed with this project on 45% Avenue east of Fillmore in the 1962
construction season, if poSSible. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Hearing held on Concrete alley paving between Jackson and Quincy, 37-39.
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by McCline, that the City Manager be author-
ized to proceed with this concrete paving in alley, for 1962 construction
season. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Hearing held on blacktop paving of alley between Jackson and Quincy,
south of 40th Avenue. Several residents were present protesting
this improvement, and a discussion took place.
Motion by Orendorff seconded by Nawrocki, that this improvement request
be denied. Roll Call: Orendorff,Nawrocki,& McCli~e -~.kye. A~s%~O~,
and King - Naye.
Hearing held on blacktop paving of alley between 4th & 5th from 51st to
52nd. Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, ~hat the
City Manager be authorized to proceed with this alley paving for 1962
donstruction season. Roll Call - All Ayes.
Hearing held on blacktop paving of alley XH~W~X~HH from Peters Place
east to alley running north & south between Peters Place & Gould Ave.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City Manager be authorized
to proceed with this improvement, for 1962 construction season.

Hearing held on Concrete paving of alley between Central and VanBuren,
from 40th tc 41st. Several property owners were present who were not
in favor of this alley paving at the present time,also the petition
did not contain sufficient signatures.
Motion by Orendorff seconded by King, that.~ petition for paved alley

Hearing held on opening of California Street 39-40, installation of util-
ities, Base and Surfacing. Several prbperty owners from this area'
were~present and objected to this street Opening to 40th Avenue.

projected on -the Wall and eXPlained by the.engineering, dePar'tment. 'A
large group of property owners from this.area'Were present; and various'
problems were discussed.

Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the request from Mrs. McCorry,
616 47th Avenue, for reconsideration of division of special assessments,
be denied. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A letter was received from Dick Gregor, Contractor, regarding sewer and water
he had installed to serve Lots 6 & 7, Block 5, Valley View, and charged Mr.
Johnson, owner. Now the City i~ billing Mr. Johnson for sewer service.
Motion by Nawrocki seconded by King, that this request of Dick Gregor
be turned over to the City Attorney for investigation and report back
to the next regular meeting. Roll Call - All Ayes.
A Petition was received ~o~ concrete or asphalt alley between Monroe &
Quincy from 42nd to 43rd.
Motion by King seconded by Orendorff, that the City Manager be authorized
to advertise a hearing on this improv~ent to be held May 14th. Roll Call -
All Ayes.
A letter was received from the Stanton Company, regarding their property
at 3740 California St. and wanting to know the elevation on California,
37-38, as they are planning to expand.
Motion by McCline seconded by King, that the City Engineer be authorized
to make the necessary surveys to establish a grade on California from
37th to 38th and in the alley between California and Grand St.

Resolution offered by Nawrocki seconded by King, THE CITY OF COLU~BIA
HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL, HEREBY RE~OLVES that the Columbia Heights State
Bank, the Fidelity State Bank, the Third Northwestern National Bank,
and the Chicago-Lake State Bank be hereby designated as the depositories
for moneys of the City of Columbia Heights for a period of one year
beginning the first day of January, 1962, and the Treasurer of this
City is hereby directed to deposit moneys of this City in said banks,
and the Columbia Heights State Bank, the Chicago-Lake State Bank, and
Fidelity ~tate Bank, and the Third Northwestern National Bank are hereby
authorized and directed to honor and pay any checks or orders, when
signed by the City Treasurer, for the withdrawal or transfer of funds on
deposit in said banks in whatever form.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in case such deposits shall at any time
exceed Ten Thousaldn ($10,000.00) Dollars, said depository shall immediately
furnish bond or securities in lieu of bond according to the law, and the
Marquette National Bank for the Columbia Heights ~tate Bank and Chicago-
Lake State Bank and the Federal Reserve Bank for Fidelity State Bank, and
'the Third Northwestern National, are hereby designated as the places for
the safe-keeping of all securities f~rnished in lieu of such bond.

accept as sufficient security treasury bills in an amount of no less
than 100K of the total investment. Roll Call - All Ayes.'~
The City Manager was asked to contact Albert Kordiak regarding setting
a meeting date with Fridley, preferably May 3rd.
Resolution offered by McCline seconded by King, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by
the City Council of the City of Columbia Heights, that the City Treasurer
be and she is hereby instructed to transfer from the Liquor Fund as
follows: $9,~61.20 to the Fire Fu~d.
